v PADS (Peer Action Disability Support) envisions a world where people with disabilities are empowered to live the lives they choose.
v PADS is dedicated to the empowerment of people with disabilities by people with disabilities, through peer support, community education, advocacy, and action. PADS is a unique group based in Linn County devoted to improving the lives of people with disabilities since its inception in January 2003.

PADS is FREE and welcomes new members. PADS is for people with disabilities and their supporters. PADS is also for family members, providers of services, professionals, and anyone from the community. Members are reminded to invite guests to meetings!!

THE LIBRARY is downtown, on the SE side of Green Square Park, across from the Art Center. The main door is off of 5th Avenue. Parking is free at the Library – accessible parking is on the SE side
of the building. The building is
accessible to people with
disabilities.
We know that transportation can be a barrier for people with disabilities. PADS will provide FREE TRANSPORTATION through LIFTS – in the Cedar Rapids Metro area only.
Simply CALL LIFTS at 892-5170 by Thursday – 10/29/15 @ Noon — PADS will pay the bill directly. Certain restrictions apply.

REDUCED COST TRANSPORTATION: PADS will reimburse you for rides like taking the bus, mileage for your car, or taking an expensive form of transport like a taxi – UP TO $6.00 in ACTUAL COSTS – we will ONLY pay $6.00 even if your ride is $40.00 (round-trip).
