Joining the CHS PTO is a wonderful way to positively impact the Cedar Hill community.Your $35 annual dues fund 50+ initiatives both large and small for the school year. See attachment for details on how we use the dues. This year we are excited to be able to collect dues online at the A-Z online directory in addition to Back-To-School Night. To pay online head to you will be prompted as you verify your family info, or by clicking the “Purchase” icon from your homepage.
NEW PLEDGE CAMPAIGN!!
While paying your dues, please consider contributing to our new fundraising campaign, “Just Write a Check.” We’ve listened to your feedback and understand for ease and tax-deduction purposes, some families might prefer to make an upfront donation in September. The "Just Write a Check” Campaign, in addition to the PTO dues, will help determine the extent of fundraising during the school year. All funds raised by the PTO benefit each and every student in the school. Should you choose to make a donation, that may also been done online at A-Z and clicking on the “Purchase” icon from your homepage. Donations can also be collected via mail. CAR LINE REMINDER-- MORNING ARRIVAL:
Note:Monday, September 12, is the last day we will have 2-3 PTO parent volunteers assisting us each morning with arrival and in the afternoon with dismissal.
1. If you use the lower parking lot during drop off, please park and walk your child to the crosswalk. Only after the crossing guard has crossed your child(ren), may you leave.
2. Please do not drop students off in the parking lot to cross by themselves.
3. When entering the Cedar Hill lot, please use BOTH lanes.
4. At the merge, we follow an alternate merge process. Please be courteous. 5. Make sure you STOP at the stop sign at the cross walk. We have lots of students and families that use this crossing to get to and from school. 6. Please ALWAYS PULL ALL THE WAY UP to the end of the sidewalk near the stop sign past the carport overhang – even in inclement weather. 7. Your child must BUCKLE AND UNBUCKLE HIS/HER OWN SEAT BELT. Parents need to remain in their car at ALL TIMES. If your child requires your assistance, please park in a parking space and use the appropriate crosswalks to cross them to the school. (Number 1 above)
5. Again, parents need to remain in their car at ALL TIMES. This is for your safety. If your child requires your assistance, please park in a parking space and use the appropriate crosswalks to cross them to school.
6. Your child may ONLY exit the car from the passenger side door, the side next to the sidewalk. For everyone's safety, at NO TIME may they exit the driver's side door. We recommend seating them on the passenger side seat to make it easier for them to exit and enter the car.
7. When exiting the line, please carefully check that no cars are passing on your left before pulling out.
8. Once your child is dropped off or picked up, please pull out and move all the way to the left so that new cars can pull up in the line.
9. Side doors lock promptly at 8:45 a.m. so please ensure that your child(ren) uses the front door. There is a door bell that will alert the office to unlock the door. Do not drive away until your child(ren) is safely inside the school.
*HOT ITEM *-- NEW DISMISSAL RULES!
Earlier in the week Principal Ciempola emailed a note regarding the new dismissal policies. Please see the attached letterto read his note in entirety. If you have not filled out and returned a Dismissal Form to your child's teacher please do so ASAP (see attachment).
Students riding the bus will be going out the front door. Students walking or using the car line will exit from the side entrance only. Students will not be exiting using any other doors. Students may continue to meet parents at the Ridge High School parking lot directly behind Cedar Hill. These students are considered walkers. Once they exit the side entrance, they are to walk up the paved pathway to the RH parking lot. Parents may wait for these students at the parking lot, or along the pathway. If you are picking up your child at the RH parking lot, please circle RH Parking Lot Walker on the dismissal sheet. There are two teachers posted along the paved pathway to assist students if needed. One of these teachers will be at the top of the pathway at the RH parking lot. As they are getting to know the students, the teachers on the paved pathway may ask students where they are meeting parents.
