A SENATE RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE FRANK JAMES ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AND TO THANK HIM FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED AND EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE FLORENCE COMMUNITY
Whereas, Frank James, a native of Columbia, South Carolina, graduated from Gardner Webb in 1970 and the University of Virginia School of Bank Management in 1981; and
Whereas, he has ably served BB&T since April of 1991, most recently in the role of Senior Vice President; and
Whereas, in this capacity, he has given freely of his time, energy, and talents to numerous organizations in the surrounding Florence community; and
Whereas, he rendered invaluable service to the following entities: Florence Rotary Club, Florence County Economic Development Board, Florence Gamecock Club, Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors, McLeod Fellows, Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce, The School Foundation Board, Florence Darlington Technical College Foundation, Pee Dee UNCF, and the American Heart Association; and
Whereas, his service in his many capacities has inspired and established a model of professionalism that we should all strive to follow; and
Whereas, he is a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where he also serves on the church’s finance committee; and
Whereas, he is married to the former Paula Hylton of Lexington, South Carolina, and is the proud father of two children, Lance and Matthew, and grandfather of seven,
Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate thank Frank James for his dedication to BB&T, the Florence community, and wish him well in all of his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Frank James.
