ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE

The Christian Cultural Association of South

Asians (CCASA) was established in 1995. CCASA is a non-religious, non-political, and non-profit organization that makes strategic investments for building healthy, sustainable and caring communities in Canada. CCASA understands the need for an organization that is concerned with creating a positive community experience that benefits both immigrants in particular and Canadian Society in general.

MISSION STATEMENT

To promote good relationships among people of South Asian origin, and to improve the image and understanding between this Association and Canadian Society.

MANDATE

§  To develop effective partnerships with other organizations and associations.

§  To develop effective communication with its members, other associations, organizations, and government agencies.

PURPOSE

1.  To assist deserving South Asians to immigrate to Canada.

2.  To help newcomers to adjust and realize

their potential as full participants in Canadian Society.

3.  To disseminate information concerning education, culture, and opportunities in Canada to members of the Association.

4.  To promote the positive recognition of immigrants and their contributions to Canadian Society.

5.  To protect the rights and interests of the Association members and to serve as a national voice to government agencies and the public at large.

6.  To provide a forum for the issues relating to women, children and seniors.

7.  To visit all shut-ins, sick and needy people in our community.

8.  To provide mentoring and proper guidance to youth.

9.  The Association declares its support for all basic human rights, and its abhorrence of discrimination of any kind, which include political, racial, economic, sexual, religious, and other prejudicial forms of discrimination.
