PASADENA, CALIF. – CBS THIS MORNING co-host Gayle King will interview President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama live from the White House during CBS Sports’ pre-game show THE SUPER BOWL TODAY, to be broadcast Sunday, Feb. 7 on the CBS Television Network, it was announced today.
In what is expected to be a lively and broad conversation that goes beyond the usual politics, King will talk with the President and First Lady about their life in the White House, his plans for his final year in office, and relevant topical current events.
“Gayle knows how to drive conversations that are compelling and multi-dimensional so we get an even better understanding of the President, the First Couple and their plans for the future,” said Chris Licht, Vice President of Programming, CBS News, and Executive Producer of CBS THIS MORNING. “The interview will fit seamlessly into the midst of a Super Bowl Sunday. We’re proud to have CBS THIS MORNING part of CBS’s network-wide coverage of the historic SUPER BOWL 50.”
King’s interview will be featured as part of CBS Sports’ THE SUPER BOWL TODAY pre-game show leading up to the broadcast of SUPER BOWL 50 live from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

In fourth quarter 2015, CBS THIS MORNING generated CBS’s largest audience in the time period in 23 years. During fourth quarter 2015, CBS THIS MORNING gave CBS its best competitive position in the time period with NBC in 23 years and with ABC in 17 years, according to Nielsen most current ratings. CBS THIS MORNING was the only network morning news program to post year-to-year increases.
