SCHOLARSHIPS

·  CBA Booster Club will award scholarships to seniors who plan to attend college in the fall. To apply you must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and good attendance and discipline. Applicants must have played at least 2 sports during their senior year. Deadline: April 29th

·  Mack Pierce Scholarship: To apply you must have been or currently be involved in FFA and/or agricultural classes. Applications are available in the counseling office. Deadline: April 18th

·  (SECU) State Employees Credit Union “People Helping People” Scholarship: One senior from each high school in the state will receive $10,000 to attend one of the UNC system public universities. To be considered you must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Please submit a resume by April 18th! ***SECOND NOTICE

·  The Foundation of Wayne Community College: Scholarships are available for students to attend WCC. Students must complete the FAFSA before submitting the application. The application is available in the counseling office or may be downloaded at www.waynecc.edu/Foundation. Deadline: March 31st

·  Emmet & Mary Robinson Scholarship: You must plan to pursue a degree in the field of medicine or nursing or agriculture or in the ministry of the Presbyterian & Episcopal churches and demonstrate financial need. Application in the counseling office. DEADLINE EXTENDED! Due March 4th!

·  Seymour Johnson AFB Spouses’ Clubs Scholarship: To apply you must be a dependent child of active duty, reserve, guard, retired, MIA/POW, deceased officer or enlisted member of the USAF. Applications available under “Scholarships” at www.sjocsc.com. Deadline: March 15***SECOND NOTICE

·  Golden LEAF Scholarship Program: The Golden LEAF Scholarship program provides support for students who will attend community colleges or four-year universities. Recipients may receive up to $1500/semester for attendance at a 4-year university and up to $750/semester for attendance at a community college. Apply at CFNC.org/goldenleaf. Deadline: March 1

·  Financial Aid Guide for Hispanic Students: For helpful information visit http://www.onlinecolleges.net/for-students/financial-aid-hispanic-students/ The site helps with every aspect of the college search and financial aid process.

·  NC Bar Association Scholarship for Children of NC Law Enforcement: Applicants must be the children of NC law enforcement officers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. The application can be accessed at https://www.ncbar.org/members/divisions/young-lawyers/. Deadline: April 1

·  UNCG Guarantee: To be eligible students must have a family income that does not exceed 100% poverty and demonstrate academic promise and potential (SAT of 1000 or ACT of 21). Apply to UNC-G by March 1st and complete the FAFSA to establish your financial eligibility.

·  Student-View Scholarship Program: The program awards one $4,000, one $1,000 and four $500 scholarships. To apply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. Scholarships are awarded in a random drawing of all completed application surveys. Deadline: April 22nd

·  Johnston Community College Keystone Leadership Institute: The program offers free tuition, internship experience that relates to the student’s program of study and opportunities to build your resume. Deadline: May 1

·  BBB Torch Scholarship: To be eligible you must personify high ethical standards as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic success. Applications are available at bbbscholarship.org. Deadline: March 21

·  Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship: This scholarship program awards $1,000 to continue your education. To apply you must complete a short essay. Go to www.gkscholarship.com. Deadline: July 31st.

·  O’Berry Foundation Scholarships: To apply you must plan to seek an undergraduate degree in one of the following fields: occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreational therapy, psychology, special education, nursing, speech pathology and social work. You must also intend to work with persons with developmental disabilities after college graduation and have a current GPA of 2.8 or higher. Go to www.oberrycenterfoundation.org for the application. Deadline: May 1st

·  NC Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA): To apply you must plan to attend a college/university in the fall. The organization seeks to recognize students whose academic credentials fall within an average to above average range. To apply go to http://www.retailpaysforcollege.org Deadline: April 4th

·  Abbott and Fenner Scholarship: Students must submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their website: http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm Deadline: June 10th
