Ballou read a prepared statement: The selection of Superintendent to lead our district is a very detailed process. It takes many hours of hard work and dedication. I would like to thank the members of the screening committee and let them know how much the Board appreciates their willingness to serve in such a critical role in the superintendent selection process. They spent a lot of time and effort in order to recommend the names of applicants to the Board, and they did a great job. The committee members were Barry Nesbitt, Michelle Meredith, Eric Self, Ronnie Cobb, Sheldon Ballou and Becky Garmon. The Board was pleased to have three quality candidates to consider for the position of superintendent. All three were highly qualified and professional. Each finalist had specific strengths to bring to the district making our decision very hard. Looking for the person that was the best fit for our district, recognizing the importance of school culture, and increasing student achievement has been and will continue to be a priority for our Board. Each of us is committed to achieving excellence and assuring that the children entrusted to us are prepared to succeed for life.
