Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Greater St. Louis
Thank you for your interest in our club. Our group was founded on March 30, 2003 and is the regional club for the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, Inc. (the AKC National Parent Club). We wish to extend an invitation for you to join our club or be our guest at any club activity or function.
Taken from our club Constitution and By-Laws, “the objects of the club shall be:
To encourage and promote the quality in the breeding of pure-bred Cavalier
King Charles Spaniels and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities,
including sound health and temperament, to perfection;
To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved
by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Cavalier
King Charles Spaniels shall be judged;
To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the breed by
encouraging responsible breeding practices and sportsmanlike competition
at dog shows, obedience trials, tracking tests, agility and other events for which
the club is eligible;
To provide education opportunities for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeders,
exhibitors, owners and the pet-buying public;
To encourage member participation in community activities which promote the
Sport of pure-bred dogs and responsible dog ownership;
To conduct sanctioned matches, obedience trials, and other events for which the
Club is eligible under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
Meetings are held in the Greater St. Louis area, at members’ homes, at public parks, at dog show events and at the A.K.C.Museum of the Dog. The general public is always welcome to attend any club function. Notification of all club sponsored events, activities and meetings are sent to members and other interested persons via e-mail at this time.
We are a small group, but growing, and invite you to come and visit with us at any club event. We usually have our dogs with us and are always glad to share them with new friends. If you are interesting in adding a Cavalier to your family we ask that you be patient, study the breed and do your “homework” before you select a Cavalier from any source. We do not endorse the “for profit” or commercial breeding of Cavaliers in any form. Sadly, there are many puppy mills in Missouri and we ask that you be very careful in your decision to add any pet to your family.
For more information about our breed you can go to the national club’s website at ackcsc.org, come talk with our members at a dog show or club function or you can contact our club president Christine Curtis at or (636) 282-1112
