Casting Contract

2011 Fall Musical

Grease

May 20, 2011

Congratulations! You’ve been cast in next year’s musical. It is very important that you understand the commitment you’re making and know what to expect when the rehearsal process begins in the fall. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, October 27th, 28th, and 29th at 7 pm. Rehearsals will typically be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings (roughly 6 – 8); Wednesday and Fridays after school until 5:30, depending on home football games; and on a couple Saturday afternoons. Our first meeting will be held on Monday, August 22nd at 3:30 pm in the vocal music room.

The show will be broken down into sections, so you need only come to rehearsal for those times when your character’s sections are being worked. At our first meeting you will receive a section breakdown and a rehearsal schedule for the entire production period. You are expected to arrive early to each rehearsal in order to be warmed up and ready to start on time. All conflicts, which will result in absences, late arrival, or early leave, should be put in writing and given to the director ahead of time. You will not be expected to appear at rehearsal if you are ill and absent from school, of course, but you will be expected to let Mr. Gealy know that you are absent. Unexcused absences will not be tolerated. Failure to comply with any of these rules could lead to dismissal.

A truly great theatrical production is great because of the commitment that the cast members make to the show and to each other. Therefore, we are trusting each of you to contribute greatly to the success of the show. We cast you because we believe in you, and we look forward to working with you.

If you are interested in accepting the role you’ve been offered and are willing to make the commitment, please print and sign your name below, along with the signature of a parent or guardian to ensure they are aware of the commitment you’ve made. Return this form to me no later than Wednesday, May 25th. Your signature below means you agree to all terms stated above. Failure to return a signed form may result in another student being cast in your place. If you or your parents/guardians have any questions stop by the black box (144), send me an email (), or call me at 436-1302.

Thank You,

Mr. Scott Gealy
