CAST ANNOUNCED FOR THE PREMIERE OF BLUE FISH IN A TALL CLEAR VASE

(Chicago, IL) Three Cat Productions presents the world premiere of a Blue Fish in a Tall Clear Vase at the Chicago Park District’s Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan Road (Edgewater by Granville el stop on Red Line).

While confined in a suffocatingly tight container, Blue Fish ponders about the state of the universe and his quest for freedom, and tries to concoct a plan for escape. Meanwhile, the artist who drew him must meet a deadline to realize her dreams. Can they work together to achieve their aims?(This play is inspired by a painting by Maryam Gaber.)

Blue Fish in a Tall Clear Vaseis new play written by Fouad Teymour. Fouad Teymouris a Chicago-based Egyptian American playwright. Recently, his playTwice, Thrice, Frice(August 2017) was part of the Crescent and Star Staged Reading Series at SilkRoadRising, where his playThe Night Jesus Joined the Revolutionwas also featured in 2012.His translation of Ahmed Serag’sThe CastleandThe Sparrow(Arabic) was performed in IVP 2014 and published in June 2015 by Dar Ibda’a (Egypt). Teymour is a Professor of Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology.

The cast includes Frank Gasparro, Tehilla Newman, Wendy Parman, Sam Ramirez, Tricia Rogers, Andrew Seller, and Halli Stewart.

The play is directed by Jason Paul Smith, Three Cat Productions, Artistic Director. Original Music is by Roy A. Freeman. Stage Manager is Drew Durfee. Dramaturg is Carol Ann Tan. Resident Lighting Designer is Pat Henderson.

Previews begin October 25, 2017. The show runs is October 25 – November 25, 2017. Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 4:00pm and 7:30pm at the Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain. No late seating.
