3.  The Team, A “team” can consist of as many shooters as can be safely on board your boat. No Non-shooters on the boat during the shoot hours.

4.  Waiver, each participant must sign a waiver, thus releasing the shoot’s organizers (members of the WBA) and Sponsors from all liability.

5.  Equipment, only standard bowfishing equipment (Compound or traditional bows only, no crossbows or slingshots) may be used in the tournament. No nets, gaffs, bait, or any other standard fishing gear allowed in boats during tournament hours. Fish are not to be placed on ICE.

6.  License, no fishing license is required for bowfishing in Washington State.

7.  Registration, all teams must register at Cascade Park from 6:30-7:30 am. All teams must complete a registration form, and waiver, to become registered in the event. At 7:30 am there will be a mandatory driver’s meeting.

8.  Inclement weather, Mother Nature is not always the most forgiving. In the case that inclement weather jeopardizes the safety of participants, the WBA board may elect to take action to reduce the risk. If this occurs prior to the start of the event WBA will refund any participant’s entry fee that requests it. If the inclement weather occurs after the start of the event, no refund of entry fees will be given. It will then be the judgment of the participant to determine if he/she will continue on with the competition.

9.  Launch/Release of Participants, all participants must launch their boats from Cascade Park. Directions for “blast off” will be given at the driver’s meeting.

10.  Fishable waters, teams are required to launch their boat in and solely fish Moses Lake. Any team that harvests fish from closed waters will be disqualified and not allowed to participate in WBA shoots for a minimum of 5 years. Shooters are not allowed to leave their boat to harvest fish. If you must leave your boat to retrieve gear, all bowfishing gear must stay in the boat.

11.  Closed waters, all waters outside of Moses Lake. Shooting will not be allowed within 1000 ft. of Cascade Park, this will be considered the “Safe Zone”.

12.  Sportsmanship, Basic unwritten rules of good sportsmanship will be expected during the shoot. Common sense, and respect to other shooters is a must in order to insure a good time be had by all. Giving way in narrow channels and staying at respectable distance from other boats can’t always be monitored, so good judgment, common sense, and being respectful to other shooters reflects solely on each of us as sportsmen.

13.  Alcohol, The consumption of alcoholic beverages during tournament shoot hours (Sat 8:00AM-4:00PM) is prohibited. Violation of the policy may result in a team’s disqualification.

14.  Weigh-In, BIG 20: The official cut-off time is 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 2:00 pm on Sunday. All boats need to be within the “safe zone” by the cut-off time. Teams must trailer their boats to the parking lot of the Grant County Fairgrounds to be weighed in. Teams will be weighed in one at a time until all teams have been weighed. Harvest to include carp only. The harvest of any game fish is illegal in Washington and will result in immediate disqualification. It is the responsibility of each team to determine their heaviest 20 fish, as well as, identify to the weigh-in staff the heaviest fish for the big fish pot prior to weigh in. Total weight totals will determine ranking in the tournament.

15.  Payout, $10 dollars from each non-member’s entry fee will be taken out for operating expenses of the Washington State Bowfishing Association. All remaining entry fees will be paid out to the Top 10 of the teams entered. $250 (per day), Donated by DJ’s Diesel, will be paid to the team that harvests the heaviest fish.

16.  Private Property, Moses Lake is surrounded by private homes on the lake. Shooter’s need to be respectful of private property and follow and comply with any owner’s requests. Failure to do so could lead to disqualification.

17.  Disqualification, Any team or participant that is caught breaking the rules, “cheating”, or behaving in a manner that jeopardizes the safety of others will be disqualified from the event. In such instance the team will forfeit their entry fees and possibly be banned from future WBA events.
