Career Mark Key Document 6
Career Mark Support, Advice and Guidance Multiplier
Introduction
The Support, Advice and Guidance Multiplier table is a simple method for summarising the full range of careers support available to your students.
The table below is provided as an example only.
· The descriptors for each row would be typical for an 11-18 school and would need to be amended appropriately for any other type of organisation.
· The descriptors for each column are based on the latest Statutory Guidance but they too can be amended to suit the specific circumstances of any organisation.
The table can provide both you and your assessor with a simple summary of the range of support on offer. It would then need to be supplemented by a more detailed narrative describing various elements and the judgements you made in deciding on your provision.
How to use the table?
1. Check the vertical and horizontal axes and amend to your requirements.
2. Tick each cell accordingly. It is perfectly OK to leave some cells blank.
3. Once you have completed the table to your satisfaction and are confident that you have included all the range of support on offer, you should then provide some supporting narrative which describes:
a. How you reached your decision on what to offer and to whom
b. How you ensure that there is sufficient volume and range
c. How you ensure that each is fit for purpose
d. How you monitor and evaluate each aspect
