Client/Organization: Freeway Ministries, Springfield, MO

In September 2011, Freeway Ministries was created by a group of praying men, who had asked God to use them to reach the unreachable in the Springfield, Mo. area. From the beginning we have seen God move through the simple, but powerful message of the cross, with ministry partnerships formed within various community and rehabilitation programs. Through these partnerships we are able to shuttle hundreds of people (families, singles, from old to young alike) to our services and praise God, souls are being saved.

People attending Freeway services have a history of drug and alcohol addiction, homelessness, criminal activity and are often society outcasts. However, when they learn that Freeway is comprised of individuals who have faced similar challenges and have turned their life around through God’s saving grace, they attend with an openness to hear the gospel.Today, Freeway serves 500 plus people each week between two campuses, with a distinct mission to reach the un-reachable and to love on the un-churchable, all while showing the grace, love, and power of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Freeway Ministries is looking to expand its reach.

Purpose of this project:

Currently, Freeway Ministries is marketing by word-of-mouth and through podcast, YouTube, and website interaction. This has proven successful, but now Freeway is looking to broaden its reach and partner with area churches to either support the current Freeway Ministries or create a ministry plant in their respective churches. The purpose of this project is to provide prospective partners with additional information about Freeway Ministries, honing in on the specific sub-ministries intertwined within the Freeway Ministries name. It will also provide additional information detailing how these partners can get involved within this organization and how they can support this very noble cause.

Project Objectives:

The project objective is to create a tangible, physical product that can be given to inquiring churches or organizations that provides detailed information about Freeway Ministries, its services, and how others can get involved. This objective will be accomplished through various channels, including: testimonials, Word from the Pastor, website information, media information (podcast, YouTube), and sub-ministry information. The final product will be a valuable source of information and will assist in the branding of Freeway Ministries and its marketing endeavors.

Target Audience:

Churches and organizations (rehabilitation centers, shelters, domestic abuse centers, parole boards) looking for a street or prison ministry are the primary target audience. These partners are of no particular size, but do need to have the same focus of telling the gospel and assisting in the development and rehabilitation of individuals.Freeway Ministries markets to a variety of churches in the area and leaders contact organizations about speaking to their congregations. However, due to word-of-mouth marketing, organizations and churches are also contacting Freeway asking for more information and how they can get involved.

Deliverables:

The deliverables within this project will be:

  • Detailed booklet with information about Freeway Ministries, including: history/about, objective, Word from the Pastor, testimonials, sub-ministry information (children, food, music, discipleship, security, and van service), contact information, and information about how to get involved. The booklet will have an approximate size of 8 ½ x11 with approximately 8 pages and will be bound. Booklet cover will have Freeway Ministries’ logo and will be a complimenting color.
  • PDF version of booklet available for download through Freeway Ministries’ website.
  • Prepared PowerPoint presentation available to inquiring partners and for use by Freeway representative.
  • Generic welcome/thank you letter that will be given to inquiring partners upon request of information.

Research Needs:

The research needs for this project will be:

  • Gather information from Freeway Ministries’ website.
  • Interview 2-3 individuals who have been affected by Freeway and write their testimonials.
  • Interview Pastor John Stroup about Freeway Ministries and write the “Word from the Pastor” section.
  • Gather information from each sub-ministry leader about their specific area.
  • Meet with Mike Aye on the Board of Directors to determine additional research needs.
  • Acquire pictures and media resources (podcast, YouTube) from Grant Holle and Mike Aye.

Resource Needs:

Resources will be minimal and cost will be low. The booklet cost will range from $10-$20 per booklet and the PowerPoint, letter, and website information will be free. These costs will be paid for and replicated by Freeway Ministries. Staples or CopyThis will handle the printing of the booklet and will provide advice on materials and binding. Additional resources may be needed as the project continues and this section may need to be altered.

Preliminary Budget:

The budget for this project is $20.00. This may or may not change throughout the process of the project and higher quality products may impact this.

Completion Date:

May 6, 2013

Potential Obstacles to Success:

I will meet with each individual and determine appropriate deadlines for testimonials and Word from the Pastor. Obstacles may occur dependent upon these individuals.
