Cancer (BreastScreen Victoria Registry) Regulations 2013
1Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to prescribe, for the purposes of Part III of the Cancer Act 1958—
(a)certain examinations and tests as cancer tests; and
(b)theBreastScreen Victoria Registry as the prescribed register of results of tests for cancer of the breast.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 62 of the Cancer Act 1958.
3Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1March 2013.
4Revocation
The Cancer (BreastScreen Victoria Registry) Regulations 2003[1] are revoked.
5Definition
In these Regulations, the Act means the Cancer Act 1958.
6Prescribed cancer test
For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of cancer test in section 59 of the Act and for section 62 of the Act, mammography, mammographic screening and subsequent radiology, pathology, clinical examinations and tests undertaken for the purposes of diagnosing cancer of the breast are prescribed.
7Prescribed register
For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of prescribed registerin section 59 of the Act, in relation to a cancer test for cancer of the breast referred to in regulation 6, the register known as the BreastScreen Victoria Registry maintained by Breast Screen Victoria Inc. is a prescribed register.
8Register of results for cancer of the breast
For the purposes of prescribing a register of results from a cancer test under section 62 of the Act, it is specified that—
(a)the name of the register is the BreastScreen Victoria Registry;
(b)the register is of results of mammographic screening, subsequent radiology, pathology and clinical tests and examinations and assessment of women for cancer of the breast;
(c)the organisation that maintains the register is Breast Screen Victoria Inc.;

(d)the officer in charge of the register is the person holding office from time to time as the Chief Executive Officer of Breast Screen Victoria Inc.

The Cancer (BreastScreenVictoria Registry) Regulations 2013, S.R.No.22/2013 were made on 19 February 2013 by the Governor in Council under section 62 of theCancer Act 1958, No.6213/1958 and came into operation on 1 March 2013: regulation 3.
Endnotes
The Cancer (BreastScreenVictoria Registry) Regulations 2013 will sunset 10years after the day of making on 19 February 2023 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
2.Table of Amendments
There are no amendments made to the Cancer (BreastScreen Victoria Registry) Regulations 2013 by statutory rules, subordinate instruments and Acts.
