Camden Clinical Commissioning Group Appoints Kathy Elliott as Vice Chair

Kathy Elliott has been appointed as Camden CCG Governing Body Vice Chair, taking up the post from 14 September 2017.

Kathy joined the Camden CCG Governing Body, as a Lay Member, in October 2015. Over the last two years Kathy has participated in a range of committees, including Procurement, Quality and Safety, and Primary Care, and been Governing Body sponsor for Primary Care. Kathy has also represented Camden CCG on the North Central London (NCL) Primary Care Committee-in-Common and NCL Joint Committee. Kathy will retain these roles in her new post. She will work alongside Dr Kevan Ritchie, Clinical Vice Chair.

Kathy will also remain our Governing Body lead on patient and public engagement, overseeing a programme of work rated as ‘good’ by NHS England in 2016-17. Prior to being appointed to our Governing Body, Kathy chaired the CCG’s Camden Patient and Public Engagement Group (CPPEG).

Dr Neel Gupta, welcoming Kathy to the role of Vice Chair, said, “Kathy has made an enormous contribution as a Governing Body Lay Member over the last two years, and I now look forward to working with her as our Vice Chair. Kathy’s relationships with our member practices and patient networks, as well as her strong links with North Central London primary care commissioning colleagues, are a huge benefit for Camden CCG.”

On the announcement of her appointment, Kathy said, “I have experience acting as the public representative on behalf of Camden CCG in a number of contexts, for example in North Central London public meetings; locality meetings; and London NHS events. I am now looking forward to using the learning from my CCG responsibilities as an elected patient and Lay member, to contribute to Camden CCG being an effective commissioning organisation as Vice Chair”.

Kathy has previously worked at strategic and operational levels as an NHS and Public Health professional delivering national, regional and local public services, with particular expertise in improving health outcomes across patient pathways; health improvement and preventive health programmes; primary care; health inequalities; building working alliances; finance and performance management; and clinical governance. Kathy lives in Camden and is an active member of the Caversham Practice Patient Participation Group (PPG).
