*Call to Worship: Psalm 84:1-4

How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.

Lord Almighty, my King and my God,
blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.

Profession of Faith: Heidelberg Catechism Q&A 16-19

Why must he be truly human and truly righteous?

God's justice demands that human nature,

which has sinned, must pay for its sin;
but a sinner could never pay for others.

Why must he also be true God?

So that, by the power of his divinity,
he might bear the weight of God's anger in his humanity
and earn for us and restore to us
righteousness and life.

And who is this mediator—true God and at the same time truly human and truly righteous?

Our Lord Jesus Christ,
who was given us to set us completely free
and to make us right with God.

How do you come to know this?

The holy gospel tells me.
God himself began to reveal the gospel already in Paradise;
later, he proclaimed it by the holy patriarchs and prophets,
and portrayed it by the sacrifices

and other ceremonies of the law;
finally, he fulfilled it through his own dear Son.

*Scripture: Daniel 3:1-7(ESV) pg. 925

1 King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits and its breadth six cubits. He set it up on the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.2Then King Nebuchadnezzar sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

3Then the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the justices, the magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces gathered for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up. And they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.4And the herald proclaimed aloud, “You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,5that when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.6And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.”

7Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

This is the Word of the Lord.

Thanks be to God.

Message: The Golden Image

*You Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim#477:1,3 (PH)

You servants of God, your Master proclaim,

And publish abroad his wonderful name;

The name, all victorious, of Jesus extol:

His kingdom is glorious, he rules over all.

“Salvation to God, who sits on the throne!”

Let all cry aloud and honor the Son;

The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim,

Fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb.

*God’s Blessing

*All Hail, King Jesus

All hail, King Jesus! All hail, Emmanuel!

King of kings, Lord of lords, Bright Morning Star.

And through out eternity I'll sing His praises,

And I’ll reign with Him through out eternity. Repeat All
