The Art League is pleased to present 100.Tea.Bowls in collaboration with the ceramic artists of the Torpedo Factory. 100.Tea.Bowls invites artists to create a harmonious composition through the tea bowl clay form. This exhibit is presented in tandem with our immensely popular biennial Ikebana Show.

JUROR
Ceramic artist Terry Gess—Mr. Gess has received international awards and recognition for his work. He was invited to live and work in a teapot factory in the People's Republic of China, collaborating with a master Chinese potter in the development of new teapots. His formal education includes study at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and Penland School of Crafts.
ELIGIBILTY
Artists of The Art League (inclusive of gallery members, faculty, ceramic students, and associates) and artists of the Torpedo Factory (inclusive of Scope Gallery’s Ceramics Guild and Kiln Club).
ENTRIES
Although artwork may be conceptual in nature, it must function as a tea bowl. Entry fee is $3 for up to three works per artist. Only one piece will be displayed per juried artist at The Art League’s discretion. We ask that artists strongly consider submitting at least two works—one for exhibit display and the second to serve as a replacement in the event of a sale. Work must not exceed 5” in footprint or any direction. Works must have been completed within the last two years and must not have been previously shown in The Art League. Make checks payable to The Art League. Submit entry fee and form with your CD of images. Entries must be postmarked byFebruary 16, 2010. Artists will be notified by email.
DIGITAL IMAGES ONLY
Three images per entry are allowed. Submit images in JPEG format. Images should be 300 dpi and no more than 2100 pixels at the longest dimension. (Approx. a 5” x 7” high-resolution photo) All files must be labeled with artist’s first initial and last name followed by entry number. Please include H x W x D, materials used and firing process. Please include all materials (CD, entry form, entry fee) in an envelope marked with the artist’s first and last names. Note: your CD will not be returned to you.
INSTALLATION
If selected, artwork must be installation ready. The Art League reserves the right to reject any juried artwork due to inadequate preparation for installation or safety concerns. Work that differs from the images submitted will not be accepted. After installation, no artwork may be removed from the exhibition until the close of the show with the exception of artwork sales.
RECEIVING
Accepted artwork must be delivered to The Art League by listed dates. Artwork drop off and pick up to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist. The Art League is not responsible for any damage during the exhibit process. It is the artist's responsibility to insure their artwork during the exhibit.
SALES
All pieces must be for sale. The Art League will retain a 40% commission on any sold artwork. The artist will receive 60% of the sale price. Note: artwork that sells and is removed at purchaser’s request will be replaced, at The Art League’s discretion, by the artist’s second accepted piece.
PRIZES
There will be a $250.00 prize awarded to “Best in Show”, and three “Equal Awards” that will each receive an Art League gallery membership and $50.00.
RIGHT TO REPRODUCE
The Art League reserves the right to photograph exhibited work and use either these photographs or the artist digital images for reproduction in both printed and electronic materials for publicity.
