St. Croix Valley Riders General Meeting Minutes-February 12th, 2017

President’s Introduction: Mark

Since Mark was ill, Randy ran the meeting. A Group Rider’s course will be held Sunday May 7th from 8-5. Sign- up sheet is here. We need volunteers for Donnie Smith, March 25-26th, sign up with Michelle. STEAM convention. We will take one general member and pay for you to go, you just need to get there. It is in Sioux City Iowa, on April 7-8th. Let Mark know if interested.

Meeting dates that need to be changed due to conflicts: April 9th will be April 2nd, May 14th will be May 21st, and August 13 will be August 20th. Fury Open House will be April 29th.

Secretary’s Report: Julie Rice

A motion was made to waive the reading of the minutes and accept as written. It was voted on and approved. A motion was made to accept the general meeting minutes and the BOD meeting minutes from the previous meeting when there was no quorum. It was seconded voted on and approved. Ron asked that the BOD minutes be read aloud to Membership, so that it was clarified, that the raise in ticket prices would be for the Chili Feed, not the RBR.

Treasure’s Report: Beth Franz

The financials are on the table. Not a lot happening. We are getting membership money in, and have some money already for multi-year members. There was a motion to accept the financials as written. It was voted on and approved.

Merchandise Report: Michelle Moreno

Mid-Winter party was awesome, thanks to all the volunteers who helped. I need help at Donnie Smith.

Membership: Judy Gebhardt:

We are at 579 members in January. A quick count show 74 new and 117 renews from last night’s party.

Rider’s Education: Ron Lischeid:

Accident Scene Management Class for March 4th from 8-5 or so. It will be held at Tavern 829- the old Hidden Harbor. A check for $50 will hold your spot. You will learn about the PACT…You could get 6.5 CEU’s. It will be put on Facebook and website.

Road Captain: Don Christensen

Be safe out there. Side roads are bad, stay on main streets.

MN Legislative Report: Shane Murphy:

Biker Day had 11 people show up, thanks to those who did. Watching HF-122: insurance discount for safety courses, Safety plate, and removing the $70,000 cap for safety monies as it is related to motor cycle safety signs and put it all in.

WI Legislative Report: Dan Hren:

Biker Day at the capitol will be February 23rd Exit 4 at Mike’s. Leave at 6:00 am. In committee is the autocycle bill, black box bill, and Right away bill. If you kill someone on a bike, it is an $83 ticket. Need to know how many people are going.

The 2017budget is on the table. There was a motion to accept the 2017 Budget as written. It was seconded, voted on and approved.

Member of the Month: Jay Oricchio

Jay is the owner of the Gas-Lite and a selling Manger for Coordinated Business Systems. He also, is owner of Snowballs. It was a night of beverages with friends that, he jokingly said we should buy the Gas-Lite. They made an offer and it was accepted. He now has improved the space and hosts the best damn party in the Valley. Jay has a step son, two daughters and 2 sons, and has been married for 17yrs. Jay doesn’t ride motorcycle, because the fun police won’t let him have a bike!, but he races super stock cars on dirt tracks. Thanks Jay for what you do for SCVR events.
