CACFC DRUG FREE COMMUNITIES SUPPORT PROGRAM

Job title: Program Director

Summary: The Program Director will be responsible for the oversight and project implementation of the CACFC Drug Free Communities Support Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Oversee the daily implementation of the Drug Free Communities Support Program and the associated 12-month action plan; Supervise program staff and volunteers; Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and federal, state, and local laws; Provide fiscal and personnel management in conjunction with the agency’s Human Resources and Fiscal Departments; Provide support to coalition leadership; Ensure all DFC grant record keeping and recording requirements are met; Plan and coordinate education and awareness events, media campaigns, and community/parent outreach; Secure local in-kind and cash donations; Assists with grant applications and budget development; Recruit new coalition members and volunteers; Present at community events and meetings; Assist in the implementation and development of environmental strategies to address youth substance abuse; Develops reports, documents, brochures, newsletters and assist with website and social media messaging; Maintain the record-keeping system that provides for the evaluation, control, and documentation of project activities; Serves as the key liaison between the coalition, the general public, service providers, and other interested parties; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders; coordinates the youth coalition at each school district.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services or closely related field required. A minimum of five years’ experience in community coalition building, prevention practices, substance abuse, or youth services can be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree requirement. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge in youth substance use prevention, youth prevention programs, prevention principles and experience in coalition building, community mobilization and outreach. A comparable combination of experience and education may be considered. Experience working with Microsoft Office. Must have exceptional interpersonal and relations skills, strong organization skills, and the ability to create and maintain community partnerships. Must have, be working on, or willing to work on OCPS Certification.
Supervisory Requirements: This position will supervise two Project Coordinators and volunteers.

Skills & Knowledge: Experience working with youth, school programs, coalitions, and at-risk families and youth. Must have knowledge of planning principles, skills, and techniques in human services and community development. Ability to manage a project budget and adhere to agency procurement guidelines.

Travel: Travel to workshops, conferences, and meetings required. May involve overnight, out of town, and out of state travel.

Salary Range/Hours: $20-$22/hour; Part-time; 20 hours/week; 6-7 hours/day Monday, Wednesday,Friday or other agreed upon schedule. Requires day time and some evening hours.
