The Taylor University Department of Music is pleased to welcome pianist Jooyoung Kim to campus. Ms. Kim will be performing in a guest recital on Friday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 pm in the Butz Carruth Recital Hall of the Smith-Hermanson Music Center. Works included on her program include Sheep May Safely Graze by Bach, Sonata in C Major by Haydn, variations on a Theme of Corelli, Op. 42 by Rachmaninoff, and Grandes Etudes de Paganini by Liszt.

Jooyoung Kim, a native of South Korea, has been critically acclaimed on international stages for her dazzling technique, superb musicianship, and exquisite artistry. Since making her debut at the age of twelve as a soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Kim has presented numerous solo and chamber recitals in South Korea, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, and the United States. She has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Yonsei Sinfonietta, Yale University Symphony Orchestra, and the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Ms. Kim has taught at Ball State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, Kaywon Arts High School, Incheon Arts High School, and Korea Artists Center, giving applied piano lessons and master classes. Currently, Jooyoung Kim maintains an active performing career in recital with numerous singers and instrumentalists. There is no charge for this recital and the public is welcome to attend.
