Course Description: Students will explore the dynamic topic of sports and entertainment marketing. The basic functions of marketing are applied to this hugely popular subject. Students will evaluate marketing strategies used by successful sports and entertainment marketing firms, investigate Internet marketing, explore advertising and promotion as well as examine legal and ethical issues in the sports and entertainment field. In addition, students will complete a professional sports management simulation overseeing all aspects of the organization.

Course Description: This exciting course exposes students to all aspects of promotion and marketing related to video games. It also exposes students to simple programming that they can use to understand and create their own video games. This course is open to all students but is especially well suited to any student seeking a career in business, marketing, computer software engineering or programming.

Course Description: This course introduces students to money management and personal financial tasks that students will use in everyday life. Course Description: Accounting 1 - The students learn to analyze business transactions and make simple financial statements for a service-type, one-owner business. Accounting 2 - (Prerequisite: BE1371 Accounting 1) Students learn to record, classify and summarize business activities for a one-owner merchandising business. Accounting 3 - (Prerequisite: BE1372 Accounting 2) Students learn to audit the financial problems relating to the merchandising businesses that fall under the three classifications of one owner, partnerships and corporations.

Course Description: (Prerequisite: Ability to touch type or instructor approval) The students will produce, store, edit, retrieve, and print documents using word processing, database, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing applications with proper formatting and proof reading. Course Description: Computer Graphics 1 - This course is designed to explore the relationship between design, artistic expression and the latest technology. Students will enhance the traditional methods of designing and visual problem solving with digital imaging and other electronic media production processes. Images will be manipulated in a variety of ways to create artistic imagery. Computer Graphics 2 - students will explore digital video editing, multimedia technology, and will be introduced to desktop publishing techniques.

Course Description: (Prerequisite: Consent of instructor) This college-level class is designed to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Exam in Computer Science. This course is for college bound students, especially those planning to major in computer science, engineering, or the physical sciences to prepare students for AP testing and possible accreditation in college level computer science courses. The course consists of a full academic year of course work in the following areas of study: top down design of computer software; readability, modularity, portability, and robustness of computer programs; as well as issues directly related to fundamental control structures; standard, scalar and sub-range data types; intermediate control structures; arrays; repeat and nested structures; recursion records; sets; pointers; dynamically allocated data structures and hierarchal records and files. There will also be some emphasis on team problem-solving and software engineering.

Course Description: Students will move through the basics of PowerPoint and then add advanced features. Students will use clip art, download graphics from the internet, draw graphics, edit graphics, and use digital camera, scanner, and photo editing software. Students will also learn to capture and edit sound and work with video, including digital video editing. Class serves as part of the Software Specialist Academy at Kirkwood and counts as 3 Kirkwood

Community College Credits. (Dual credit - Provides both H.S. and Kirkwood Community College credit)

Course Description: Internships through the Workplace Learning Connection allow students to get hands-on experience in possible careers. 45 hour and 90 hour internships are available for credit.
