Volunteer Celebration Dinner

Urgent Needs
Lawn Mowing: Keep someone in their home by providing lawn mowing services. We’ll match you with someone in need in your area to cut their grass for the season! This is a great opportunity to help someone stay independent.Spring Yard Cleanup: Do you like spending time outside and want a volunteer opportunity that fits around your schedule? Help a senior get ready for summer by participating in our Spring Yard Cleanup. Cleanup begins in May. This is a great volunteer opportunity for any size group. Bring your rakes and clean up winter debris, first floor gutters, wash windows, weed, install screens, trim bushes, and/or place lawn furniture out.
Receptionist: Interfaith is looking for a volunteer receptionist from 9am-12pm on Thursdays to manage our front desk area. Tasks include answering the phone, taking client ride requests, and being a cheerful greeter to those who stop in our office. Necessary training will be provided.
Painter: Like to paint? A 75 year old woman in New Berlin would like 5 ceilings painted. The job can be broken up into a couple days or done all at once. She will have all the materials for the volunteer.
Carpenter: We have a client who lives alone in New Berlin in need of some help. She had work done on her furnace and in doing so they had to take out some base boards. A volunteer will need to go to her home to look at the work and let her know what material to buy.
Cribbage Player: Calling all Cribbage Players! We are looking for an experienced Cribbage player to take on a challenging partner. This client lives in Waukesha and is now homebound after breaking his hip. He has a great sense of humor and is looking for someone to shoot the breeze with while he is recovering.
Spanish Speaking Drivers: Do you speak Spanish? Maybe you know someone who does! We are looking for Spanish Speaking volunteer drivers for a few clients who are in need of a comfortable way to get to their doctor appointments.
Spark! Air Volunteer:Help caregivers support their loved ones who have dementia by providing an extra hand during programming. Events are held once a month throughout Waukesha County, providing hands on experience for mental stimulation, communication and social engagement. Bus Buddies Needed!
Are you an experienced bus rider who would like to help others become more comfortable riding the bus or have always wanted to learn how to ride public transit? Do you enjoy being out in the community and meeting people? Interfaith’s Bus Buddy Program is looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to teach individuals how to use the bus. Your gift of time can help someone in the community retain his or her independence. We provide training and a bus pass to Bus Buddy volunteers. Knowledge of bus routes, having good communication skills and a flexible schedule are a plus. Community Needs
Waukesha Read-A-Thon: The Friends of the Waukesha Public Library is hosting a Read-A-Thon for readers of all ages on Saturday, April 22. Participants can come and read (or, for small children, be read to) anytime between 9 am and 1 pm. Healthy snacks will be provided midway through the event. Sign up and get info and sponsor sheets after March 2 at the Library or atWaukesha Courthouse Greeter: Greet and assist people seeking directions to offices and / or departments located throughout Waukesha County complex. Answer any questions the visitors may have based on the frequently asked questions guide to the best of your ability. Report any unusual or alarming conditions to the security screeners. Record your volunteer time in the volunteer logbook. Make every effort to arrange a substitute in the event of absence. Submit to your supervisor any suggestion for improvement for the greeter program. Friday shifts available. Shifts are 2 hours 45 mins and agreed upon during training (shifts being 9-11:45, 11:45-1:30 and 1:30-4:15).
Meals on Wheels Driver: Do you enhoy driving? Help your neighbors by bringing them meals. Report to the assigned Dining Manager at the established time. Deliver meals on a route established by the ADRC and Nutrition Site Manager. Primary areas of need are Waukesha, Menomonee Falls, and Muskego. Meals are picked up at 11am and most drivers are back at 1pm.

Unique Way to Support Interfaith
Looking for other ways to support Interfaith? Our agency is in need of donations of wine and silent auction items for the Tapestry Dinner. Wine bottles should have a value of $15 or more and will be part of our wine pull – a successful fundraiser at the event. A silent auction wish list is located HERE.
