THE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

OF THE ENERGY BAR ASSOCIATION FUELS

STATEWIDE ENERGY ASSISTANCE ORGANIZATION

Trenton, NJ…December 13, 2005. The Charitable Foundation of the Energy Bar Association awarded a grant to New Jersey SHARES, a statewide energy assistance organization, to aid families with their utility bills this winter. The Charitable Foundation’s mission is to engage in charitable activities, including the support of worthwhile energy-related charitable projects.

Jim Jacob, NJ SHARES executive director said, “We know that the Charitable Foundation Of The Energy Bar Association shares our concern regarding the ability of our neighbors to cope with the extremely high bills they will receive this heating season. The Foundation’s generous contribution of $7,500 will allow us to provide critically needed energy assistance to New Jersey households in crisis. The Foundation’s contribution will be immediately available to assist individuals and families throughout New Jersey. We thank the Foundation for enabling NJ SHARES to assist more of our neighbors during this time of escalating energy prices”.

NJ SHARES helps thousands of households who do not qualify for programs based on the federal poverty level get through a temporary financial hardship that may have resulted from a job loss, an illness or other misfortune. Each client fills out an application though one of the 75 local community-based organizations that belong to the New Jersey SHARES statewide network. Eligibility is determined by the NJ SHARES staff based on individual need. New Jersey SHARES grants are distributed year-round.
