Bursaries and Placement Project Coordinator – Head Office

The Wholesale and Retail Sector for Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) seeks to employ a Bursaries and Placements Project Coordinator, who will report directly to the EM: Bursaries and Placements and be based at the W&RSETA Head Office in Centurion for a 12 Months fixed term.

Job Summary:

The role of the Project Coordinator in the Wholesale and Retail SETA is to plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within the budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Coordinator will also oversee quality control of projects throughout their life cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities: will include but not limited to:

§  Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

§  Act with a sense of urgency to implement challenging deadlines to ensure project success

§  Breakdown work required in a project and estimate the tasks involved.

§  Assess and make contingencies for dependencies within a project

§  Track project milestones and deliverables

§  Prepare and submit project reports on a regular basis

§  Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

§  Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle

§  Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

§  Flag issues especially where they may impact on key delivery/payment milestones

§  Plan and maintain the project cash flow, coordinating stakeholder invoices and payments

§  Manage an effective filling system.

Minimum Requirements

§  A three year tertiary qualification.

§  3 – 5 years related experience as a project coordinator / managing projects.

§  Experience within a finance environment will be an added advantage.

§  Computer literacy - proficient in Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Ms Project.

§  Innovativeness and Creativity.

§  Assertiveness and good communication skills (both verbal & written).

§  Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

§  Willingness and ability to travel.

§  Strong analytical skills.

§  Ability to work in a team environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

§  SETA experience and/or public entity experience will be an added advantage.
