Dance 101 Annual Showcase to Benefit Captain Planet Foundation

“Incarnation” Brings Life to Alliance Theatre

ATLANTA – July 7, 2009 – The Captain Planet Foundation (CPF), an international, eco-foundation for youth based on the successful Captain Planet and the Planeteers cartoon, is thrilled to be the beneficiary of the highly-acclaimed Dance 101’s annual showcase, with this year’s theme of “Incarnation”.Presented July 31 and August 1at the Alliance Theatre, this year’s event will include over 100 dancers and represents the abstract journey of the soul of creationtold through music, movement and imagery.

The 2009multimedia dance event follows a central characterfrom one embodiment to another, from one danceform to another, from one emotion to another, each in which it acquires a new view of existence and interaction with others.Charles “Bubba” Carr, Artistic Director at Dance 101, is proud to present this continuation of excellence in progressivedance to the level of last years “Transformotion,”considered by many as the best dance performancein Atlanta for 2008.Carr is a highly talented dancer, performer and choreographer with credits including dancing with and choreographing for Cher at the Caesars Palace Coliseum in Las Vegas, video appearances with Prince, television commercials for Sprite, Coors, The Gap and Levi’s 501, and appearances in “Friends”, “Oprah”, “The Academy Awards”, “Austin Powers: Goldmember” and “So You Think You Can Dance”. With such a distinguished track record, the 2009 showcase is sure to delight audiences from all over the Atlanta area.

“Incarnation” will be held July 31 and August 1 at 8 p.m., with the matinee on August 1 at 2 p.m., at the Alliance Theatre. The Alliance Theatre is located at 1280 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, and can be found online at Evening show tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door, and matinee tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets can be purchased beginning July 1 at Dance 101 or online at Sponsorships from $250 to $10,000 are also available by contacting and include red carpet arrival and photo-ops, backstage pre-show briefing, meet and greet with dancers, onstage recognition, VIP seating and press coverage. Patrons can bring ticket stubs to The Bar atTROIS or TAP, located at 1180 Peachtree Street, for $10 off their total bill. Show proceeds benefit CPF.
