“I Am Also A Homosexual”

Recently a show was put on TV with the advance commercial, “I am a Christian. I am also a homosexual. I don’t really believe my homosexual beliefs matter to God.” The key to that statement is “I don’t really believe.” How does he know? What proof does he have?

Maybe he’d like to go to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and see if their sinful ways mattered to God (Gen. 19). Or maybe he should look at Lev. 18:22, Rom. 1:27 and 1 Cor. 6:9-11. We could add many other passages, but when someone boldly states he doesn‘t “think” his sinful ways matter to God, the truth is, as Jesus said in Matt. 13:15, “The hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing. And their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears. Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.”

When people close their minds to what God has to say in favor of what they want to do, it’s not that it doesn’t matter to God; it’s that they don’t care if it does matter to God! –DPA

How To Handle Stress

  • Count your blessings! (Magnify the positive). Phil. 4:6—Re-joice in the Lord.
  • Praise others! (Focus on someone else). Gal. 6:10—Let us do good to all.
  • List your successes! Rom. 8:28—All things work together for good for them that love the Lord.
  • Let go of your troubles! Matt. 6:34—Be not anxious for to-morrow, tomorrow will take care of itself. Heb. 13:5-6—Be con-tent with what you have…I will never leave you.
  • Pray to God! Phil. 4:6—Be anxious for nothing, but in every-thing by prayers and supplications with thanksgiving, let your re-quest be made known to God.

Psa. 55:22--Cast your burden on the Lord. (Submitted)

Is It Not A Sin To Argue Religion?

The answer of this question must be deter-mined by what is meant by the word “argue.” In all probability, it would be wrong to “argue” as is meant in the question. I think we could well say here that “a tree is known by its fruit.” If the fruit is good, so is the tree. I have never known any good to come from street corner brawls about re-ligion. Such instances produce no fruit and if any, it is very poor.

However, honorable and honest discussion in matters of question usually come out with the truth and it is always for the better. We are not to cast the pearl of truth before swine (Matt. 7:6). When debate is exercised simply to “win” the dis-cussion, simple prejudice always reigns and wins. However, when debate is exercised to learn the truth, truth always is victorious. Debate is done to discover the function and course of truth. Eliminate religious debate and one elim-inates the truth and makes way for all manner of false teaching and error. The truth has no fear a-gainst honorable debate.

Jesus Christ debated Satan in Matt. 4. The a-postle Paul debated the Jews as concerning the religion of Christ, also as to the false accusation that he had defiled the Temple in Jerusalem. The record is found in Acts 23. Beginning with Acts 24, Paul debated a Jewish lawyer, Tertullias by name. Once again in Acts 26, the Apostle pleaded his case and defended the truth before King Agrippa. In Acts 7, Stephen, the first martyr of Christ, defended the religion of Christ to his death. Again, in Acts 4:5-12, the Apostle Peter defended th cause of Christ. This, I am sure, is enough scriptural precedent for such debate.

Finally, “Beloved, while I was giving all dili-gence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to CONTEND EARNESTLY FOR THE FAITH which was once for all delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3). –Alan Piner

Are Non-Christians Subject To

God’s Marriage Laws?

Yes, God’s marriage laws apply to Christians and non-Christians alike. If God’s marriage laws excluded the non-Christian, then how do you explain the word “whosoever” in Matt. 19:9? Jesus said, “And I say unto you, ‘Whosoever shall put away his wife except for fornication, and shall marry another commits adultery: and who-soever marries her which is put away does commit adultery.” God’s marriage laws apply to “whosoever,” and this leaves out no one.

And, if non-Christians are not subject to God’s marriage laws, then how could those “of this world” be guilty of fornication in 1 Cor. 5:10? --Tommy W. Thomas

Mary Had A Little Lamb

Mary had a little lamb,

His fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went,

The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school one day

Twasn’t even in the rule.

He made the children laugh and play,

To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,

Illegal it became

To bring the Lamb of God to school,

Or even speak His name.

Everyday got worse and worse,

And days turned into years.

Instead of hearing children laugh,

We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime

That’s in our schools today?

Let’s let the Lamb come back to school,

And teach our kids to pray!
