The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Building Interim Regulations 2017—

(a)toupdate the zones of planning schemes which provide different siting requirements to the siting requirements in those Regulations; and

(b)to make other miscellaneous amendments.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 7, 9, 261 and 262 of, and Schedule 1 to, the Building Act 1993.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Building Interim Regulations2017[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions

In regulation 105 of the Principal Regulations, in the definition of fire safety engineer,for "class of fire safety engineer;" substitute "class of engineer (fire safety);".

5Exceptions to carrying out protection work

In regulation 603(b)(i) and (ii) of the Principal Regulations, for "civil engineer" substitute "engineer (civil)".

6Certificates of compliance—proposed building work and building work

(1)In regulations 1505(a) and 1506(a) of the Principal Regulations, for "civil engineer" substitute "engineer (civil)".

(2)In regulations 1505(b) and 1506(b) of the Principal Regulations, for "mechanical engineer" substitute "engineer (mechanical)".

(3)In regulations 1505(c) and 1506(c) of the Principal Regulations, for "electrical engineer" substitute "engineer (electrical)".

(4)In regulations 1505(d) and 1506(d) of the Principal Regulations, for "fire safety engineer" substitute "engineer (fire safety)".

(5)In regulation 1506(f) of the Principal Regulations, for "civil engineer or category of erector or supervisor (temporary structures)" substitute "engineer (civil) or category of person who erects or supervises the erection of prescribed temporary structures".

7Amendment of Schedule 5—Planning schemes

In item 37 in Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations, after "General Residential Zone (GRZ)"insert "Neighbourhood Residential Zone(NRZ)".
