PROPERTY TAX INFORMATION – TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE – ELECTION DATES are all at your fingertips.
Treasurer News:
· Taxes and 1% administration fee are due 7/01/2016 thru 9/14/2016. Beginning 9/15/2016 interest will be charged @ 1% per month unless deferment is requested prior to 9/14/2016. Beginning 3/01/2017 taxes are delinquent. Contact the Sanilac County Treasurer, 60 W. Sanilac Ave., Rm 204, Sandusky, MI 4871, Phone 810-648-2127 for balance information.
· Summer Tax Deferral Information:
1. It is possible for some property owners to defer their summer taxes until February 14, 2017.
2. Read the rules on deferment form to see if you qualify.
3. Applications for deferment are available from the township treasurer or at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/homestead1_2541_7.pdf
Land Use Permits:
· Permits are required on any type of construction project for your property, also for demolition.
· Contact Mark Stencel at 810-633-9421 for zoning regulations and issuing of permits.
Fire Department Service:
· When burning brush or debris, a BURNING PERMIT is required. Contact the Fire Department Chief that services your section.
Blight Zoning Ordinance:
· This ordinance is in place in your township to maintain its attractive appearance.

· Tri-City Landfill offers two free dump days for Sanilac County residence. The location is 426 Ruth Rd Carsonville, MI. Contact the landfill for information at 810-657-9313.

· Taxes may be paid in person @ Security Credit Union, located at 5200 E Peck Rd, Croswell MI. or by mail to Kim Stencel, Township Treasurer, 3250 Fargo Rd, Croswell MI, 48422 Make checks payable to Buel Township. Checks must clear or receipt is void.
· Receipts will not be provided unless requested at the time of payment.
