AREA 14 SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP – All Area 14 CHAMPIONS from AREA 14 BSPS OPEN Championships (RIHS Heritage Open & Mini; RIHS Mini SP; RIHS Open SP; RIHS Open SHP; RIHS Open WHP; BSPS Open WHP; BSPS Mini WHP; RIHS BSPS Pretty Polly; RIHS BSPS Anglo/PB Ridden) will be invited to compete for the AREA 14 SUPREME at the end of the show.

The Area Supreme Champion will qualify for The ‘BSPS ‘ Best of the Best Area Supreme Championship at the 2017 Summer Championship Show. To be eligible for qualification animals must be registered, owned and ridden with the BSPS and must be members of Area 14.

This show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the constitution and rules of the BSPS including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS. Owners and riders must be BSPS members before the date of the show to compete in classes with qualifications for the RIHS & Blue Riband and animals must be registered with the BSPS except for the Anglo & P/B Arabs who must be registered with the AHS.

Royal International Horse Show – this show is a qualifier for the RIHS. The highest placed pony, not already qualified from the first three ponies in RIHS qualifier classes will qualify.

BSPS Blue Riband Pony of the Year – the 1st & 2nd placed pony in the following classes: Open RIHS Lead Rein and First Ridden; Open RIHS Show Pony classes; Open RIHS Show Hunter Pony classes; Open RIHS WHP; Open RIHS Intermediate WHP

BSPS Champion of Champions –This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Show Pony, Champion Open Show Pony, the Champion Open WHP/WH, the Champion Open SHP will qualify. In mixed height classes the first prizewinner will qualify. The Champion Mini WHP will qualify for the Binks Family and White Company Champion of Champions.

BSPS Premier League – the qualification for the BSPS Premier League will be awarded to 1st to 4th placed ponies in Open classes that are not RIHS qualifiers.

The BSPS Classic Security Challenge – this show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge. Animals may enter both the BSPS Blue Riband of the Year and the BSPS Challenge. Animals must have qualified for the Challenge by attending any BSPS affiliated show and competed in the appropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2017 Horse of the Year Show. If a pony qualifies for the Horse of the Year Show it will forfeit its qualification for the BSPS Challenge.

BSPS Black Country Saddles Best Rider – this show is a qualifier for the BSPS.Black Country Saddles Best Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in the Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Lead Rein Hunter Type, Show Pony, SHP, Cradle and Nursery Stake, Open WHP and Int WH, Intermediate SRT & SHT, Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and the best rider 25 years & under in the Heritage Ridden and WHP classes will receive a card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championship Show.

NPS Mountain & Moorland Qualifying rounds – these classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Books. Part-breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern 2017. The highest placed pony in each qualifying round will qualify qualification will go no lower than 3rd place. A pony may qualify once. It is the responsibility of the owner/producer to ensure that the rider/handler knows whether their pony has already qualified and whether or not they are entitled to take the qualification.

NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship – riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rule Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. The ponies, if owned by NPS members are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show.

Cherif Championship – this is a qualifying show for the Cherif Championship 2017 the final will be held at The Cherif Championship show held at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Bucks on the 13th September. All details and qualifying cards at £25.00 each (payable to Cherif Championship) from Mrs L. Temple, Roedean House, 8 Runnymede Gardens, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 0FN. Please state the name and accurate height of horse/pony. SAE and contact number is essential.

SSADL First Round Home Produced Qualifier – all competitors should acquaint themselves with SSADL rules before entering. The Olympia Anthony Evans SSADL First Round qualifiers are open to both affiliated and unaffiliated members of the Senior Showing & Dressage Ltd. British Skewbald and Piebald Association – classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead Tuesday 25th July 2017. Classes will be judges under BSPA rules. Download from www.bspaonline.com. All horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders BSPA members prior to the show. Rider’s age taken from 1st January. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cm or under (Shetlands exempt) must possess a current JMB height certificate. All stallions must be graded and licensed by the BSPA or hold a BSPA Showing Permit (contact BSPA for Stallion showing permit information) for 2017 and have a BSPA stallion ID card and wear BSPA Stallion ID Disc. No rider under 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class. No competitor/owner/horse may compete in this class or enter the ring without 2017 membership of BSPA and RIHS qualification card.

Qualification – 1st place and the next unqualified competitor standing in 2nd or 3rd qualify from each class. No competitor may qualify lower than 3rd place. BSPA Office: 01354 638226; email:. Highest placed Amateur and highest placed Junior in each class qualify for the Amateur and Junior Supreme Championship Final to be held at the BSPA World of Colour Championship Show 2017 at the College EC, Keysoe Beds. Rules and Conditions of Entry

1.  The Committee reserve the right to alter the times of the classes, rings or the judges if necessary. Timings given on the schedule are ‘not before ‘start times and are given as an approximate guide. Classes will run on where a time is not given.

2.  The Committee does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to any person, animal or property at the show.

3.  Mounted exhibitors must adhere to horse walkways and riding area.

4.  All dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

5.  All entries must be paid in full when entering. CASH ONLY accepted on day for late entries. NO ENTRY FEE WILL BE REFUNDED.

6.  The committee reserve the right to refuse any entry aggressive, abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

7.  The Judges decision is final.

8.  All marks will be double checked at the Secretary’s Office and if found to be incorrect places will be adjusted to allow for this. Mark sheets will not be given out on the day but available on BSPS AREA 14 website following the show.

9.  This show is run with due regard to Health & Safety. Everyone in attendance must abide by the instructions given by officials.

10.  Correctly secure Skull Caps/Riding Hats Nos A11 PAS015, VGL, ASTM F1163 04a onwards. SNELL E2001, AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards. MUST be worn by riders at all times whilst mounted.

11.  All prize money is to be collected from the Secretary’s Office on the day of the show. Failure to collect on the day will forfeit any prize money.

12.  No clearing out of horse boxes is allowed on the showground including litter.

RIHS classes – 1st £35.00; 2nd £20.00; 3rd £10.00

Other classes – 1st £15.00; 2nd £10.00; 3rd £5.00

1st prize money will be given in all classes. There will then be additional money prizes added for every additional 3 entries received by the closing date of entry to a maximum of 3rd place.

NPS/PICTON M&M Novice Ridden National Championship

Stallions, mares & geldings 4 years old & over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. A pony is not eligible to compete if before 1st January in the current year it has won an open NPS affiliated mixed M&M ridden class. Won a ridden class at an Olympia; Horse of the Year Show or RIHS qualifying round. Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship Show (N.B ponies can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive years provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year). Qualified for the M&M Ridden Championship final at Olympia in previous years. If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Picton final. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit.
