General Membership Meeting

Meeting convened at 7:08pm. A quorum was present.

1.  President Notes (Annthea)

a.  Minutes – 4/12/16 Executive Board Meeting Minutes were presented. It was moved and seconded to approve minutes as presented.

Motion was APPROVED.

b.  Thanks to Berit for time and effort put into a successful and fun Staff Appreciation Week.

2.  Treasurer Report (Aurora)

a.  2016-17 school year budget presented

It was moved and seconded to approve ‘Profit & Loss Budget Overview –July 2016 through June 2017 (With Permission to the Board of Directors to Reallocate)’.

Motion was APPROVED.

b.  Brookside profit & loss this year has been fruitful and productive. Brought in more funds than anticipated.

c.  Based off of profit & loss, it has been elected to take away some fundraisers and add ways to assist teachers and school.

d.  Aurora is asking for receipts from teachers to be submitted by June 10th. Carrie Misener will ask Christy to notify teachers of deadline.

e.  It was moved and seconded to remove and authorize signers for bank account for 2016-17 school year.

Remove: Isabel Sanden, Deci Evans, Aurora Belli

Authorize: Alexa Johnson, Saul Clifasefi, Stephanie Selin

Motion was APPROVED.

3.  Nomination Committee (Jill)

a.  Thanks to the nominating committee.

b.  Presentation of the Slate for the 2016-17 school year.

It was moved and seconded to approve Slate.

Motion was APPROVED.

4.  Ways & Means (Deci & Stephanie)

a.  Planning is underway for the 2016-17 school year.

b.  Will focus on three main fundraising opportunities next year:

Auction, Gift wrap/cookie dough sale, Annual Appeal

c.  No Chinook Book or Game Night next year.

d.  Pack the Park was huge success. 7K profit. June 3rd date for next year.

5.  Student Events (Jesse)

a. Mariners Night is June 12th at 1:00pm

b. Additional information and flyers will be going out soon.

6.  Teacher Liason Report (Carrie)

a. Thanks and appreciation from the teachers

b. Carrie Misener will remain Teacher Liason for next year.

7.  Greening of Brookside (Annthea)

a. Started recycling milk cartons in all lunch periods.

b. Brookside should be awarded as a Level One Green School by the King

County Green School Program at the end of this year.

c. Thanks to teachers for collaborating and recycling markers through the

Crayola ColorCycle Program.

e.  Labeled all recycling bins in classrooms and office.

f.  Working for recycling and composting at Back to School BBQ.

8.  Arts & Culture Report (Myrna)

a. Musical: May 20 & 21. Still looking for a few volunteers, developing program

selling tickets.

b. Art Docents are thankful for additional funding and thank PTA for support.

c. 22 folding tables and storage rack purchased. Will be stored behind the aftercare

building. Will create a sign out system. Submit requests to Christy for use

outside of PTA.

9.  Community Services Report (Katie)

a. EdueKits for the 2016-17 school year are being finalized this week and orders will

go out in June. Kits will be shipped to school (available at Back to School

BBQ) with opportunity for shipment to home for additional fee.

10.  Thank you’s

a. To Deci and Aurora as outgoing board members for all of their time and hard

work.

b. To Annthea for her dedication and everything she has done this year.

c. Thanks and gratitude from Annthea to the Board.
