Bromley SCClub Age Group and Distance Championships 2018
Club Championships are an excellent opportunity for the club’s swimmers to compete and reward themselves for all of the hard work undertaken throughout the year. All swimmers are invited to attend. Swimmers in squads not included in the following criteria should speak to their coaches for guidance as to which events are suitable.
CRITERIA:Entries should be submitted by 15th May 2018.
All swimmers MUST SIGN IN before the warm up. Failure to do so may mean that you are unable to swim. Please allow yourself enough time to sign in and be ready for the warm up. Sign in will close at the start of the published warm up time
Swimmersare expected to participate as follows:-
AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS: - Swimmers from Improvers, D1, D2, C1, C2, C3. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Junior, Top, Honorary, Masters and Elite squads – all events
DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS: - Swimmers from C2 and Silver – at least 200m Freestyle. Swimmers from C3, Gold, Junior, Top, Honorary, Masters and Elitesquads - all events as advised by your coach.
The ages and events included are a reflection of those included in the Kent County Championships programme.

Promoters’ Conditions
These Club Championships will be held under ASA Law and FINA Technical Rulesof SwimmingAll swimmers must be members of Bromley Swimming Club and registered members of the ASA: either Category 1 or 2. Age as at 31st December 2018. Level 4 MeetLicence Nos.
Structuring of the Championships
Age Group Championships
These are the main championships and are split into age groups with shorter distances for the younger swimmers, in line with the events at the Kent County Championships. The results of these events are used to calculate the overall champions in each age group and the overall club champions.

Distance Championships
The Distance Championships are, again, a separate competitionfor swimmers to enter.

- For all events, medals are awarded on the day for 1st – 6th forall age groups.
- The 400m IM, 1500 & 800m Freestyle events are not included in these Championships as our programme reflects the County Championships where swimmers need to be aged 11 years & over to compete in these events. Time trials for the 400IM are included in the programme on the 7th July. The 800m and 1500m freestyle events are available at our Distance Meet on 29th September 2018 – details will be available soon.
Age Group and Overall Club Championships (awards presented at presentation evening)
Entry into a minimum of three events for the appropriate Age Group and Distance Championships (as above) will gain automatic entry into the Overall Club Championships for both the Age Group (25, 50 & 100m events) and Distance Championships. A separate entry is not required.
- Awards are given to the top three girls and boys in each Age Group.
- A trophy is awarded to the overall girl and boy Club Champions for each Championships
PHOTOGRAPHY
- In line with Leisure Centre Conditions of Hire, the Promoter of this event insists that any person wishing to engage in any video, zoom or close range photography and using a mobile phone with photographic capability should register their details in the book provided at the information desk at the balcony entrance, before carrying out such photography.
Things to note
- There are no qualifying times.
- The cost of entry is £3.00 per event and an administration fee of £2.00.
- All entries received meeting the criteria will be accepted.
- Late entries may be accepted at the promoter’s discretion. No entries will be accepted on the day.
- Please keep a record of the events you have entered.
- We will be seeding the races according to the times we have on file and these will be the faster of SC or LC conversion (as converted by the database software) as held on the club database. To ensure that our records are up to date please let us know if you achieved a time at a gala/open not organised by Bromley SC.
- Refunds will not be given after the closing date except in exceptional circumstances or on medical grounds. Medical documentation may be required as evidence.
- Results will be posted poolside and in the gallery on the day and posted on the Bromley SC website and included in the ASA database
- Could parents please register on line to help in both official and non-official roles
- By submitting entries for Club Championships, you are agreeing to comply with the Promoter’s conditions
