Cautionary Notes:

  • A trip down the McMichael is not like a float on the Delaware. This is a strenuous adventure.
  • Creek conditions, rocks, downed trees and other obstacles, changeability of water speed and depthall suggest paddlers should be at an intermediate level of experience with kayaks.
  • Paddlers should be in a physical condition that allows them to haul and/or lift their kayaks over shallow water sections and obstacles that are likely to lie along the path.
  • Paddlers MUST have and MUST wear approved safety vests, sturdy shoes suitable for walking on the creek bed, and clothing that will not be unconfortable when wet.
  • Attendance at the safety training is required. We will not take anyone along who misses it or is late.
  • We advise using single short kayaks -- double kayaks and longer sea kayaksare hard to turn in the confines of the creek.
  • We advise water, sun screen, hats/helmets, water proof containers for delicate equipment and tie-downs for loose equipment.
  • Paddlers MUSTsign and return the attachedwaiver of liability. A form for EACHkayaker please.
  • The trip is dependent on water levels in the creek. There is no alternate date for this summer. Refunds provided if the trip is cancelled.
