Objective: Create an easy to use form to use when doing research on the Internet that will help you decide if a site is reliable and usable or not.
- Open the Web quest in the class folder called, “What makes a Reliable Website”? Save it in your folder.
 
Answer these questions after looking at The Onion:
What makes this site look like real news?
How could you tell it is fake news?
- Develop a list of criteria to evaluate a website’s reliability.
 - Develop a test based on the criteria to determine if a website is reliable.
 - Using MS Word create an evaluation:
 
Have at least 5 to 8 criteria
Devise a way to judge each criteria
Create a final test to determine if the website is reliable
based on your criteria
- Apply the formatting instructions on the back to your evaluation.
 - Save in the folder called 2-EVALUATION as your last name first initial.

Instructions for Word Processing
- Save as “Evaluation” in your folder.
 - Add a cover sheet.
 - Type in the name: Evaluation Tool
 - Type in your name
 - Add the date under your name
 - Remove the pictures
 - Remove any unused placeholder text
 
- Center the title “Web Site Evaluation” at the top of the paper.
 - Write a short introductory paragraph for your evaluation. First line indent the paragraph (in paragraph dialog box, find first line indent)
 - Use a bulleted or numbered list for your criteria. (on home ribbon)
 - Set paragraph spacing to 12 pt after each criterion so a line is automatically skipped after each criterion. (paragraph dialog box)
 - 1” margins all the way around. (page layout ribbon)
 - Gutter 0.75” top. (page layout, page setup dialog box)
 - Put your name in the header, starting on page 2. Use Insert, headers. YOU MAY HAVE TO LOOK UP HOW TO DO THIS IN “?” !
 - Put page number in the center of the footer on all pages. Use Insert, footers.
 - Use spelling and grammar check. Do not leave any red or green lines on the paper (use ignore).
