BRIGHTON SOFTBALL CLUB, ALONG WITH BRIGHTON BULLDOG BASEBALL & FOOTBALL

Dear Friends,

On Friday, November 7th, we will be holding a benefit for Zachary Canaday and his family. Zach is a 9 year old boy from Brighton who attends ZionLutheranSchool and plays football and baseball for the Bulldogs. Zach was diagnosed with a brain tumor on August 24, 2008. Two days after being diagnosed with the brain tumor, the doctors at Children’s Hospital decided to operate and remove as much of the tumor as possible. Ninety five percent of the cancerous tumor was removed and Zach will now be starting chemo/radiation treatments at the end of September to prevent the 5% left from spreading. This boy and his family have a very long road ahead of them, not only with Zach’s condition but also with medical bills and caring for him during the next year of treatments.

The Brighton Softball Club (Tax ID # 84-1526380 Brighton Softball Club is a non-profit corporation) along with Zach’s baseball and football team will be holding a silent auction and raffle on the night of this event. We are asking for your help with donations such as gift certificates and/or products from your business.

Your contribution, along with your name as the donor, will be displayed the evening of the event for attendees to see. Everyone will have a chance to bid on these items and at the end of the night the highest bidder will receive your item and the money goes straight to the “Zachary Canaday Cancer Fund” through 1st bank. If you need to use this for any tax purpose please make your check payable to the Brighton Softball Club and they will keep track of each check and make 1 big contribution to the Zach Canaday Cancer Fund at First Bank.

To thank you, in addition to the support you receive from our community, we will take out an ad in our local newspaper acknowledging our donors and supporters.

The proceeds generated from this event will benefit Zach and his family directly. We are all aware that even with health care coverage, a major surgery and treatments will cause a lot of out of pocket expenses that most of us couldn’t handle without some sort of help.

Please contact Randi Edwards at the contact info listed below to let us know if you can help us in any way and when it would be convenient to pick up your donation by October 27th.

Your help and support will be appreciated more than you know, and we thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
