The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department invites applications for a ten-month full-time clinical faculty position to begin in the fall of 2017. The Clinical Faculty supervises practicum of undergraduate and graduate students in the Nazareth College Speech & Language Clinic and in community-based outreach programs operated by the CSD Department. Undergraduate or graduate courses are assigned, consistent with credentials and qualifications. This position will require supervision and teaching an academic course as needed in Summer B (July to mid-August) and option to teach/supervise in Summer A (mid –May-June) depending on availability. Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

●Supervise undergraduate and graduate students according to ASHA standards, including direct supervision of diagnostic and therapy sessions, therapy planning, and evaluation of student clinical performance and review of student documentation.

●Guide students clinical learning in a high-volume, fast-paced campus based clinic.

●Interact with clients and families regarding clinical services.

●Coordinate and collaborate as part of an interprofessional team with clinical services in other Nazareth College clinics, as well as other sites in the community.

●Teach or team-teach academic and clinical education courses in area of expertise.

●Some early evening availability is required.

●Participate in department meetings and departmental service.

●Assist with development and implementation of academic and clinical programs.

●Provide service to the College and professional communities.

Qualifications:

●Master’s degree in speech-language pathology

●ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology

●New York State licensure as an SLP

●Five years of clinical experience in the B-21 population

●Two years clinical supervision experience

●Experience working as part of an Interprofessional team

Preferences:

●NYS Teacher of Students with Speech & Language Disabilities (TSSLD/TSHH) professional/permanent certification
