Deciphered pathogenic and molecular variability of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum populations in Himachal Pradesh. Twenty nine races were identified and their DNA finger prints generated. (Sharma et al., J. Phytopathology 1999, 147: 41-45; Sharma et al., Australasian Plant Pathology 2006, 36:191-197; Padder et al., Physiological & Molecular Plant Pathology 2007, 70: 8-12; Padder et al., Archives of Phytopathology & Plant Protection 2009, 42: 610-617)
Identified sources of resistance against virulences of C. lindemuthianum and studied the genetics of resistance in common bean. Identified two complementary genes in G2333, single dominant gene in KRC-5 and single recessive gene in Baspa and Hans (Sharma et al., 1993, Indian J. Agri. Sci. 63 : 456-457; Kumar,et al., 1997, Indian Phytopath. 50: 59-64; Sharma et al., 1999, J.
