April 2017 (2)
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome back to the summer term, the staff have been very busy arranging trips and events for the children. I will endeavor to keep you up to date with our news to assist you with forward planning through regular newsletters and text messaging. However if there is anything you wish to know or discuss, please contact the school to make an appointment.
Values Education
Our value for May is “Tolerance“. Please let us know if your child demonstrates this value at home in anything they do.
Brian Hood Reading Award
Miss Katy Hood will be attending Celebration Assembly on Friday May 12th to present the ‘Brian Hood Reading Award for Endeavour in Reading’.
Multi Skills Sport Event
Pupils from Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 will be taking part in the Dragon Sport Multi-Skills Sport event to develop their skills. This will be held at the Elba Sports Complex, Gowerton.
Parking
Once again I have received a number of complaints regarding dangerous and thoughtless parking outside the school (parking on the zig-zag lines, in the bus bay or double parking).
I am sure some parents think we are nagging but our overall goal is the safety of the children and pedestrians on their way to and from school. As a school we endeavor to remind our pupils to look and use the school crossing patrol before they cross the road due to the large volume of traffic on Gower Road at the front of the school. These are all issues raised by residents and other parents who are concerned about safety on the school run.
Summer Serenade
An informal Summer Serenade will take place on Friday June 30th on the main school yard at 1.30pm (weather permitting).
Sponsored Walk
The sponsored walk to Blackpill this year will take place on Friday July 7th (weather permitting). As with events of this nature, sponsorship is voluntary.
Sports Day
Please make a note in your diaries that our sports day will take place on Wednesday June 28th and we would like parents and grandparents to come along and watch.
