BTSC HOSTS SKEET CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Washington State Skeet Association State Championships were held at our club on July 25, 26, and 27. Over 60 participants competed in the three-day event. A good time was had by all and the feedback from the competitors was mostly positive. The Association has asked to have other sanctioned events at our club, as well as make us a stop on their Winter Skeet League. Stay tuned!

A special thanks to Irv Hume for his efforts to get the championships here and to the many volunteers who helped spruce up the club for the event.Events like these bring us much needed cash for the coffers, as well as give us incentive to make the club and the grounds more presentable.

NRA Grant Application and Sporting Clays Set-Up

We are working with the help of member Ed Lyons to prepare a grant application to the NRA foundation. If successful, we will get a larger and modern television set with DVD and VHS capability. The set is much needed for the continuing education provided by the Hunter Safety Class Program. The grant program would also provide a large gun safe to store firearms and valuables. Our club has a lot of opportunities to apply for grants, but not a lot of manpower to fill out the paperwork and design presentations. If anyone has experience or the time to help, please contact one of your board members.

As always any members or prospective new members are urged to come out on the Saturday before each Sporting Clays Sunday and help us set up for the event. If you bring a gun you can also help us test our setup and get a leg up on the competition if you plan to shoot the event. Setup starts at 8:30am and runs until completed (usually around noon) on those Saturdays.
