DO NOT BRING CELL PHONES, MP3’s/I-PODS.(There is no service for cell phones at camp, & I-Pods willonly getlost or broken). Any found will be confiscated and returned at the end of the week. We cannot be held responsible for any damage to items of that nature for any reason. Don’t bring them.

Sleeping bags, suitcases, or any other item you do not intend to carry while on the ferry, must be securely tagged and marked with your name, address and phone number.If personal fishing gear is taken, it must be separate from your baggage and also properly marked. Please be aware that staff members of the Washington State Youth Conservation Camp are not responsible for the loss or theft of personal items while at camp. It is therefore wise not to bring anything valuable.
The ferry will leave Anacortes for Orcas Island at 12:35 on Sunday morning, July 20th. We therefore request that all campers arrive between 10:30 and 11:45 for registration. Ferries have been known to leave early, so please arrive absolutely no later than 11:45.After registration, you will be subject to all camp policies and to the instructions of the Camp Director and Staff for the duration of camp until you are retrieved by your parent or guardian at the end of the session. You will be expected to comply as requested at all times for your own well-being as well as for the safety of other campers. You may wish to review the camp policies and consequences carefully before you arrive.
Remember: The organization or person who has sponsored you has made a substantial financial investment in your week at camp. If for any reason you find that you will be unable to attend, you should contact your sponsor and the Camp Director well in advance so that we don’t expect you at the ferry landing. No refunds are given for no-shows at the ferry dock. ALSO: If any camper, for any reason, must leave the island prior to the end of camp, it will be the responsibility of the parent or sponsor to come to the camp to retrieve the camper.
There will be a small canteen (snack store) at camp for your convenience. You may wish to bring an appropriate amount of cash to take advantage of it. Candy, pop, juice, etc. will be available in the evenings only.
While at camp, a licensed nurse or emergency medical technician will be available at all times. There will also be some equipment available for games during your spare time (basketball, volleyball, Frisbees, canoes, etc.).

In Case of Emergency Only, parents/guardians may contact campers by calling (360) 376-2330. Write this number down at home, or leave this portion of the information sheet where it can be easily located. Parents/Guardians wishing to write to campers may do so at: Camp Moran Environmental Learning Center, Moran State Park, Olga, WA 98279. It’s always fun to pass out mail in front of the campfire each night. Make sure to send it early in the week so it’ll be received before we leave!!!
After camp, campers will arrive back at the Anacortes State Ferry Dock on Saturday, July 26th at approximately 1:10pm. At that time, campers will be formally released to their parents/guardians, or to whomever they have previouslybeen designated.PLEASE BE ON TIME. Lunch will not be provided on the final day.
