Car Parks

  • We will be complete road marking weather permitting.
  • Signs and street furniture is all on site and being fitted.
  • Tarmac wearing course to the footpaths is booked in for Monday 17th March.
  • Landscape planting, completion of the motorcycle bay adjacent to the Newsagent, bollards to the river side of the car park.
  • Weather permitting we should remove some surplus topsoil from site.
  • Car Parks will be fully operational before Easter.

Downstream of RoadBridge

  • Stonemasonry repairs to north bank revetment walls, adjacent to Things. Stonemasonry to the last of the north bank wall and the south bank opposite the lime kiln, river levels permitting.
  • LowerBridge: The new handrail has been installed. tHe new oak capping will be placed after Easter. Kerbs will be placed (weather permitting), and surfacing completed on both sides so that the bridge can be opened to traffic.
  • Demolition of the old bridge commences after traffic is diverted over the new bridge. If river levels drop we should get at least some of the structure out before Easter. The facing stones are to be saved and transported to National Trust store.
  • Surfacing wearing course around lower bridge, Penally Terrace access, and North access road, if possible.

Easter

  • Carillion will close the site over the Easter week 21-30 March. In case of emergency Colin or Cris can be contacted on the mobile numbers below.

SouthWestWaterHarbour Pumping Stations

Work planned for the period

Harbour Area

  • The final connection of the new sewers into the outfall is complete. The facility is being maintained by the site team for a few weeks until official handover.
  • Penally Terrace sewer connections are complete except for reinstatement.
  • There is a vent / signpost to be installed and some safety equipment to be fitted in the main shaft manholes.

CCC Street Works

  • Cormac will compete wearing course in Penally Hill and The Bridge this week.

NCDC Gatehouse Works

  • Geoff Cole are due to complete before Easter. Addtional portaloos have been provided as contingency.
