Rules / Notes / Information / Conditions of Entry
- Entries close Wednesday 20thSeptember 2017 at 6pm
- The Border Hunt reserves the right to cancel, combine, split or amend all classes in the event of insufficient or excessive entries.
- If the event is cancelled by the Border Hunt, please apply in writing to the Secretary for a refund.
- Refunds will not be given for the withdrawal of rider or horse after the closing date.
- In the event of adverse weather, competitors are asked to visit the website or ring 07762479295/ 07967550772 for further details.
- Times are approximate. Times available from 6pm on Friday 22ndSeptember 2017. Please check for further information.
- Horses / ponies must be 4 years & over.
- Horses / ponies to compete in one class only with the exception of class 3d - pairs
- Riders must wear secured hard hats of current British Standard, at all times when mounted.Body protectors must be worn.
- The organisers accept no liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, persons, property or spectators.
- Vehicles and trailers are parked at the owners risk
- Dogs are NOT permitted on the course at any time.
- Stop watches must not be used. This will be clearly displayed on map of course.
- Outsideinterference from spectators in ANY class with the exception of class 1a will be dealt with by Chief Stewards and could lead to elimination of competitor.
- Little Whittington XC is an independent XC course which the Border Hunt hire for their Hunter Trial. Little Whittington are guided by the Pony Club and British Eventing Rules to ensure the competitors compete safely.
The rules the organisers of the Border Hunter Trial follow are those set out by Julie Nixon as owner of the course and her decision on how we carry out the Hunter Trial is FINAL. - Any objections / complaints about judging, stewards, other competitors should be lodged with the secretary in writing within 30 minutes of the Class ending or the results going up, along with a deposit of £25, (returnable if upheld). The decision of the chief steward / judge will be final.
- The practice fence is provided as a warm –up facility for competitors ONLY and must only be used as such.
- Horses and ponies should not be left unattended at any time
- The organisers intend to run the event on time. Cross country competitors should report to the start at least 5 minutes before they are due to start.A final call will be made for late competitors.
- Any competitor taking the wrong course will be eliminated however may complete the course.
- Inappropriate behaviour towards officials will result in elimination.
- Excess use of whips or spurs will not be allowed.
- Riders on the Cross country course must always give way to faster horses.
- XC Course open to walk from 12pm to 6.30pm on Saturday 23rdSeptember 2017
- Competitors are not be encouraged to walk the XC course on the day of a Cross country event
- First Aid will be provided by on the day.
