Previous Training and Work Experience: Students who wish to receive academic credit or financial credit towards any program or course offered at Body Business School of Massage Therapy will submit complete evidence at least two (2) weeks prior to the start date for consideration of any academic credit. The school director will review and evaluate the submitted information and make a determination for credit. The director’s decision is final. Any and all adjustments will be shown on the enrollment agreement prior to signatures of the student and director.

Student Conduct: Students will be expected to act in a professional manor at all times. Profanity of any kind is prohibited. Smoking is not permitted in the building. The school director determines professional protocol and any student who, in the opinion of the director, violates such professional protocol is subject to termination from the course immediately.

Students with four (4) or more absences will be terminated from the program. Any further absences than those allotted must be deemed necessary and approved by the school to avoid termination, including leave of absence. Three (3) tardies account for one (1) absence.

Holidays/Vacations: School holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Breaks: Students will receive two (2) fifteen-minute breaks per class period that will be mutually agreed on between instructor and students.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

*Based upon total cost

This policy applies to students who drop out or legitimately documented students who are dismissed.

Any refund due shall be paid within sixty (60) days after cancellation or termination, unless the refund is payable directly to the applicant or student, in which case it shall be paid within thirty (30) days after cancelation or termination.

Termination Date: The termination date for refund computation purposes is the last date of physical attendance by the student.

Rejection: An applicant rejected by the school shall be refunded all monies.

Three-Day Cancelation: All monies paid by an applicant will be refunded if requested within three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment. A student must give written notification to the school director by certified mail. Failure to submit a written notification by certified mail will result in a $25 penalty.

Special Cases: In the case of a prolonged illness or accident of the student, death in the immediate family, or other circumstances that make it impractical to complete the course, the school shall make a settlement that is reasonable and fair to both parties.

Discontinued Classes: In the case that a class is discontinued by a school that is still offering training in other areas, all tuition monies paid to the school will be refunded. The school will have thirty (30) days to restart the class or pay the refund.

Cancellation and Refund Policy for Resident Programs

*Based upon total cost

Cancellation: An applicant subsequently requesting cancellation shall be entitled to a refund of all monies paid minus a registration fee of 15% of the contract price of the course, not to exceed $150.00.

After 50%: A student completing more than 50% of the course is not entitled to a refund of any kind.

No refunds will be issued to students attending the Equiflex Equine Sports Massage Therapy program. The student may rebook the class for one additional date.

Cancellation and Refund Policy for Correspondence Programs

For students enrolled in distance education courses, the number of class meetings held is not a relevant criterion because such courses are designed to substitute independent work for class attendance. Accordingly, the refund policy and withdrawal criteria is only based upon the tuition and does not include the materials (books, tools, supplies, etc).

The tuition refund for withdrawal from distance education courses is calculated from the date of the application to the date withdrawal is formally initiated. The amount of the tuition refund is based on the time that has elapsed since the beginning of the program.

The materials refund is determined by ownership. The ownership transfers from the school to the student upon purchase. Therefore, there is no partial refund of materials. The three-day cancellation policy applies to materials. Materials are copyright protected, etc, and cannot be viewed or reviewed prior to ownership. That being said, these items will not be sent to the student until after the three-day full refund policy expires (see below).

Three-day Full Refund:This is a period of three (3) days or 72 hours from the time of completion of all of the following events:

  1. Student signs and dates the enrollment agreement after he/she has read and understands all aspects of the agreement.
  2. A school official signs and dates the enrollment agreement.
  3. The student pays Body Business School of Massage Therapy an initial payment.

Therefore, the following refund calculations will determine the refund amount:

Withdrawal during the first week following the expiration of the three-day refund policy will give the student a 100% refund, less a $25.00 processing fee.

Withdrawal during the second week following the expiration of the three-day refund policy will give the student a 75% refund, less a $25.00 processing fee.

Withdrawal during the third week following the expiration of the three-day refund policy will give the student a 50% refund, less a $25.00 processing fee.

Withdrawal during the fourth week following the expiration of the three-day refund policy will give the student a 25% refund, less a $25.00 processing fee.

Students are not entitled to a refund of any amount beyond the fourth week following the expiration of the three-day refund policy.

Refund Policy for Veterans

The school has and maintains a refund policy for veterans, and other eligible persons enrolled under provisions of Title 38, that provides a refund for the unused portion of tuition in the event the Title 38 student fails to enter the course, withdraws, or is discontinued from any time prior to completion. Such policy provides that the amount charged to the Title 38 student for tuition for a portion of the course shall not exceed the approximate pro-rata portion of the total charges for tuition that the length of the completed portion of the course bears to its total length. An amount not in excess of $10.00 for an established registration fee is not subject to refund or prorating. The refund must be completed within 40 days per Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 21.4255.

Other Considerations

The Holder in Due Course Rule: Any holder of this consumer credit contract is subject to all claims and defenses which the debtor could assert against the seller of goods or services obtained pursuant hereto or with the proceeds hereof, recovery hereunder by the debtor shall not exceed amounts paid by the debtor hereunder.

Correspondence Program: The student pays for the program in full upon enrollment. If the student ceases to turn in their lessons, the instructors of the school will send written notification of breach of contract. If the student does not submit any further paperwork, they will be removed from the active student list. Should the student wish to continue their studies at a later date, they may do so after being approved by the school and will start where they left off.
