OVEN CLEANER

APPLICATION

OVEN CLEANER is designed for use in the dairy, meat, brewing, beverage and fruit juice processing industries. OVEN CLEANER is recommended for the removal of burnt-on food residues from stainless steel and mild steel surfaces.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

OVEN CLEANER is a brown viscous liquid containing alkaline hydroxides coupled with chelating agents, buffering compounds and wetting agents.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

OVEN CLEANER exhibits powerful wetting and cleaning properties. Excellent emulsifying properties accelerate cleaning action and adequate alkaline strength help the most stubborn soils. OVEN CLEANER possesses controlled foaming and is suitable for use in both hard and soft water areas.

DIRECTIONS

Read MSDS before using this product. It is highly corrosive. Do not use on surfaces other than mild steel or stainless steel.

Warm the surfaces to be cleaned to just below the boiling point of water. Test by splashing water droplets on surface. No splattering should occur. If splattering occurs, allow surface to cool. Wear protective clothing including eye and face protection. Apply OVEN CLEANER to the surface by brush or low pressure spray. Allow to contact surface for at least 20 minutes and apply a water spray if product is drying out. Agitate surface with scraper or stiff brush during contact period. After contact scrape off surface and dispose of residue properly. Rinse surface off with clean water and dry off with paper towel.

METAL CONTACT

OVEN CLEANER solutions are highly alkaline and should not be allowed to contact soft metals such as aluminium, brass, copper, galvanised iron, tin and tinned iron, etc. OVEN CLEANER is safe to use on stainless steel surfaces.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

OVEN CLEANER contains caustic soda and its solutions should not be allowed to contact eyes or skin. Operators should wear eye shields and protective clothing. If contact occurs, immediately flush area with copious amounts of water and seek medical attention.

Care should be taken when dissolving this product in warm or hot water.
