Bob Peters opened the meeting at 12:15 at the Franklin SteakHouse. Perhaps our Rotarians started the 4th of July vacation early, we had 8 Rotarians and 1 guest in attendance.

Bob read a thank you note from our Art Scholarship winner David Dizdari. We also received a thank you from Barbara after her cataract surgery.

Walt is still on the mend. We hear he may be doing stairs (if Sue allows him). He will be starting at-home therapy.

Ray MacKinnon is still in the hospital. He has been there since the beginning of the month. Our prayers go out to Ray and MaryAnn; we hope to hear good news from MaryAnn soon.

Bob welcomed Gokhan (Joe) Varol. Joe, the owner of the Bosphorus Restarant in Nutley, as our newest Rotarian. Joe looks forward to being a part of Rotary. His father had been very active in Rotary in his homeland of Turkey.

Bob presented next year's budget; and after some discussion, we voted and passed unanimously that budget.

Sal mentioned that his wife, Debbie, would be going for hip surgery next week. We wish her good luck and a speedy recovery.

Today marks the end of Joanne Salvio's year as president. We thank her for her time and effort. Next week, Walt assumes the title of President. So we wish him good luck on the coming year.

Camp Merry Heart Service Club day is set for Wednesday, August 10.

STYE Japan to Pt. Pleasant is Thursday August 11. We need Rotarians to spend the day chaperoning these students while basking in the seashore sun.
