VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

DATA SPECIALIST

The Oak Park School District is seeking a qualified, experienced individual to fill the position of Data Specialist at Oak Park Public Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education or Statistics; Masters Degree or Ed. Specialist preferred.

2.  At least 5 years of successful teaching experience.

3.  Administrative experience preferred.

4.  Knowledge of development cycles for valid, reliable and bias free assessments.

5.  Experience analyzing, aggregating and disaggregating data.

6.  Must have knowledge of Michigan School Improvement Framework.

7.  Must have knowledge of Common Core Standards, NGSS, and Michigan High School Graduation Requirements.

8.  Working knowledge of NWEA Assessments and associated set up, reporting and analysis.

9.  Ability to facilitate professional learning around interpretation and use of data.

10.  Exceptional technology skills including but not limited to use of Microsoft Excel, MiStar or other student information system, Illuminate or other data warehouse tools, BAA Secure Site, DRC Portal, SPSS, etc.

DUTIES:

1.  Support teachers in interpreting data from formative and summative assessments.

2.  Develop multi-year district-wide plans for fully utilizing data tools such as Illuminate and Survey of Enacted Curriculum.

3.  As part of the state system, maintain and support the consistent use of student data application such a MiStar and Illuminate to communicate real time assessment results which would include SAT, ACT, PLAN, Explore, MI Access and locally developed common assessments.

4.  Enhance teacher capacity in the area of collaborative analysis of student data using the district’s data teams processes and protocols.

5.  Design data gathering tools such as surveys and focus groups to assess the progress of school improvement initiatives.

6.  Develop teacher capacity in the use of student data from NWEA, MiStar, Illuminate and other sources to monitor student academic performance.

7.  Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in increasing capacities to plan, gather, and use data to inform instruction and school improvement.

8.  Participate in school-wide assessment of student performance as needed.

9.  Keep abreast of current research about the use of data to drive school decision making, and facilitate the incorporation of consistent data use throughout the operation of the school

10.  Participate in continual professional growth that is aligned with School and District priorities.

11.  Represent the School District in an affirmative manner in the community

12.  Other responsibilities as may be assigned.
