Meeting called to order by Mayor Klein.
Nordby motioned and 2nd by Lund to approve minutes for Council Meeting on March 10, 2003. Carried.
Thompson motioned and Nordby 2nd to pay bills: Carried.

Lon Aune talked about the street project and that he didn’t have the info from the county yet. The bids need to be turned in by May 6th and the city needs to approve the bids at their next meeting on May 12th.
Thompson motioned and Johnson 2nd to go along with Marshall County Cooperative Construction Agreement. Carried.
Thompson motioned and Nordby 2nd to leave Carter’s insurance at 75% city and 25% self. Carried. Carter was able to find a cheaper insurance; he got $441.90 a month versus $917.14. Due to the savings in insurance and that Carter’s raises were help due to insurance increases Lund motioned and Thompson 2nd to give a 6% increase to Carter’s wage from $12.60 to $13.36. Nordby and Johnson disputed and Mayor Klein settled tie by voting for the increase. Carried.
Johnson motioned and Nordby 2nd to allow Rose to register for Municipal Clerks Institute on July 14 – 18, 2003. Carried. Rose received a $350 scholarship for this training, so it will only cost the city $45, and also a $150 scholarship for the 2005 IIMC National Convention that will be held in St. Paul that year.
Monson’s will come up with a new estimate on installing lights in the arena.
VFW Auxiliary wants to buy a tree and plant on Arbor Day with City.
Lions are giving check to city to give to WOT for gazebo fund for $500, for cleaning up after the smelt fry.
Rose is to ask the 3rd grade teacher to see if they want to do a poster coloring contest for Rural Water for water week May 4th -10th, and if they do to have the prize be a free pass to the water park.
Kelly & Jeff are to e on a committee with Galen Clow & Sundberg for the siding of the Civic Building project. Thompson motioned to go along with siding project, include front door made handicap accessible and any windows that need to be replaced. Go along with Armor Exterior. School’s paying 50%. Lund 2nd. Carried.
Tabled getting any airport equipment for a while, taxpayers not happy with having to use city money to pay for it.
Nordby motioned and Johnson 2nd for the water tower fee to be added in to water & sewer instead of having its own account. Carried. Water tower is paid off and any bills for it can just be taken out of W&S.
Instead of purchasing more tags for dog’s and cat’s we will just use up the ones left over from last year since there is no date on them.
Rabies Clinic set for May 8th and White Appliance Pick Up is May 7th.
Rose brought ideas from the MCFOA Convention on helping cut cost for city and passed out. Council is to take the month and look over and discuss at May meeting.
Thompson motioned and Nordby 2nd to accept Annual Financial Report as written. Carried.
