BUDGET HEARING
President Kottke called the Budget Hearing to order at 6:31 p.m.
Administrator Green presented the annual meeting booklet including student enrollments, fund balance, fund revenues and expenditures, debt service, tax levy and mill rate projections, and equalization aid information. The proposed tax levy for 2014-2015 is $2,397,064.00 with a projected mill rate of 11.63. A detailed copy of the budget is filed with the clerk.
President Kottke, seconded by Mrs. Marcoe, moved to adjourn the budget hearing at 6:34 p.m. Motion carried:
ANNUAL MEETING
President Kottke called the meeting of the electorate to order at 6:34 p.m.
ELECT A CHAIRPERSON
Mr.Kraft, seconded by President Kottke, nominated Sarah Laningas chairperson for the annual meeting. Nominations were closed and a vote was taken. Sarah Laning was elected as chairperson. Motion carried.
APPROVE MINUTES
Mrs. Patterson, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to dispense with the reading of the budget/annual meeting minutes from August 5, 2013 and to approve as written. Motion carried.
READING OF AUDIT REPORT
Mr. Kraft, seconded by Mr. Dercks, moved to dispense the audit reading. Motion carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
Administrator Green discussed the successful referendum which put us in a good place to keep a quality education in Oakfield. The district has also received high performance awards in both schools and there is new administration in place, which has been very positive.
Principal Klassy provided highlights on some of the changes in the MS/HS building including technology, behavior, attendance, homerooms, and a new program implemented this year called PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support).
Principal Doyle shared the success of the professional development days and they are going to do more in-district training with ourcurrent staff strengths along with continuingPBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support).
RESOLUTION TO SET SALARY OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS
Chairman Laning presented the resolution to set the salary of school board members. Mr.Deer, seconded by Mr. Dercks, moved to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. Resolution filed.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALARY OF THE CENSUS TAKER
Chairman Laning presented the resolution to set the salary of the census taker. Mr.Dercks, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. Resolution filed.
RESOLUTION TO OPERATE A HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
Chairman Laning presented the resolution to operate a hot lunch program. Mr. Dercks, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. Resolution filed.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OAKFIELD DISTRICT SCHOOLB OARD TO BORROW MONEY FROM BANK ON SHORT TERM BASIS
Chairman Laning presented the resolution authorizing Oakfield School District School Board to borrow money from the bank on short term basis. Borrowing is limited to one-half the School District receipts as required by Wisconsin Statutes. Mr. Kraft, seconded by Mrs. Patterson, moved to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. Resolution filed.
RESOLUTION TO SELL PROPERTY
Chairman Laning presented the resolution to sell property. Mr. Kraft, seconded by Mr. Deer, moved to adopt the resolution. Motion carried. Resolution filed.
ADOPT TAX LEVY
Mr.Dercks, seconded by Mr. Kraft, moved to establish a levy of $2,397,064.00with a mill rate of 11.63 to operate the schools of the School District of Oakfield for the 2014-2015 school year. Motion carried.
