Adrian Thiessen has been meeting with Pastor Gloria in preparation for baptism and church membership. Please pray for them as they continue to meet and plan for a June 4th baptismal service.

Register for Eden Foundation’s 17th Annual Iron Man Golf event, taking place on Monday, June 19th, at Winkler’s Centennial Golf Course. This is a fund-raising event in support of services provided by Eden Health Care Services. Register on-line at http:/edenhealthcare.ca

Waiting for Waldemar, directed by Albertan filmmaker Eric Spoeth, will make its Manitoba premiere in Winnipeg on Thursday, May 25th and Friday, May 26th at the German Society of Winnipeg (121 Charles Street ). Show times will be 4 PM and 7 PM, on both dates. If the demand is high, we will accommodate additional showings. WAITING FOR WALDEMARis a 45-minute docu-drama about four children's lifelong search for their father who disappeared during their harrowing escape from Ukraine to Germany during the Second World War. This film event is open to the public. The film will be followed by a Question and Answer period with the director. In particular, the younger generation of Canadians whose parents or grandparents migrated to Canada are encouraged to attend.

Mennonite Church Manitoba through its Leadership Ministries administers two bursary funds – A.G. Neufeld Minister and Missionary Education Fund and the Jake & Dorothy Pauls Pastoral Leadership Training Fund.Proceeds from these funds are made available to persons who are enrolled in pastoral / missionary study for the purpose of serving within the Mennonite Church.If you are interested in applying for the 2017 Fall program, please contact Rick Neufeld – Director of Leadership Ministries or find application on the MCM website. Deadline for applications is June 1, 2017.

MCM has signs that read “No matter where you are from, we’re glad you’re our neighbor.” These signs are in three languages French, English, and Arabic. We encourage churches and individuals to post this sign in their yard. They are available from the MCM office for $20.00 and come with a wire frame for mounting. Citizens for Public Justice is an organization inspired by faith to act for public justice. CPJ is inviting churches to contribute to the government of Canada’s consultations on its Poverty Reduction Strategy via an easy-to-use online form via cpj.ca/cprs.

Is harming creation compatible with Christian faith? Is a fossil fuel economy sustainable in a time of climate change? These questions will be tackled during a May 15-17 event, “Called to Peacemaking with All Creation,” hosted at Holyrood MC in Edmonton. Visit for details.

Pray for the thousands of Mennonites in Democratic Republic of Congo who have gone into hiding to escape the violence that has claimed hundreds of lives. Pray that God would provide life’s necessities for those who have fled their homes, for stable national leadership, and for an end to the fighting.
