On behalf of the International School of Bangkok, I would like to welcome you to the 4th annual Black and Gold Invitational. This weekend of competition promises a wonderful opportunity for parents and coaches to watch their athletes shine at the sport of gymnastics.

We wish all the competitors the very best of luck and hope that your pursuit for personal achievements and excellence are met.

I would also like to say a special thank you to those that made this meet possible. A heartfelt thanks to the International School of Bangkok nurses, building and grounds staff, Community Activities and Athletics staff, Administration team, Minor Corporation, First Pix, the gymnastic parent volunteers, the ISB Gymcats and our wonderful coaching staff…without your help, this meet could not have been a success!

The competition will take place at the new Sports Gymnasium located across the track and adjacent to the new swimming pool.

Security

Please bring a photo ID to allow access to International School Bangkok.

Competition Results

Full competition results will be displayed on a large scoreboard during the competition utilizing a web-based scoring and management program called “Beyond the Scores”.

Full competition results will be emailed to coaches in the week following the competition.

Photography

First Pix photographers will be taking action shots of individual gymnasts. Photographs will be available for viewing directly after the competition at their booth.

NO flash photography allowed during the competition.

Food and Refreshments

Refreshments, breakfast, lunch and assortment of snacks will be available in the hospitality room at the top of the stairs for judges and coaches. In addition, there will be a selection of food and beverages available for purchase from Twist, Subway and Shoshana set up outside the gym during both days of competition.

T-Shirts

All competitors will receive a T-Shirt. Please indicate T-shirt size on the registration form and we will do our best to supply size requested.

Coaches Information:

Two coaches per team per apparatus are required to accompany their gymnasts at all times during general warm up and competition.

Coaches Briefing

There will be a coaches meeting on the morning of each competition just prior to the start of the general warm-up. This meeting will be held upstairs in the Hospitality Room.

Registration

Please have all gymnasts report to the Registration Table located outside of the gym prior to start of competition. There they will receive their scorecard, number and running order. Coaches please advise of any scratches or amendments prior to the beginning of the meet or at time of registration.

Warm-up

The scheduled warm-up will last for 30 minutes at the beginning of each session.

At the beginning of the competition, each gymnast will have approximately 30 seconds to warm-up on each apparatus before competing.

Music

Music is compulsory for WAG NDP Level 2 and upwards. Schools/clubs must label CDs clearly with name of school/club and name of gymnast.

Black and Gold Competition Divisions and Format:

The following information provides a summary of the rules and regulations governing this competition in accordance with the Australian National Program, 2009-2012 Version 2: http://www.gymnastics.org.au/

WAG NDP Levels 1 – 6 and MAG Levels 0 – 6

The Thailand Gymnastics Association provides both MAG and Wag Technical Judges.

Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (age as of 01/08/13)

The boys will compete over six separate apparatus: Parallel Bars, High Bar, Rings, Floor, Vault, and Pommel Horse.

Level 0 – 7 years & younger (2 teams)

Level 1 Junior – 7 years old & younger (2 teams)

Level 1 Senior – 8 years old & older (2 teams)

Level 2 Junior – 8 years old& younger (2 teams)

Level 2 Senior – 9 years old & older (2 teams)

Level 3 – Open Age (2 teams)

Level 4 – Open Age (2 teams)

Level 5 – Open Age

Level 6 – Open Age

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (age as of 01/08/13)

The girls will compete over four separate apparatus: Uneven Bars, Beam, Floor, and Vault.

Level 1 Junior NDP - 7 years old & younger (2 teams)

Level 1 Senior NDP- 8 years old & older (2 teams)

Level 2 Junior NDP – 8 years old & younger (2 teams)

Level 2 Senior NDP – 9 years old & older (2 teams)

Level 3 Junior NDP – 9 years old & younger (2 teams)

Level 3 Senior NDP- 10 years old & older (2 teams)

Level 4 NDP- Open Age (2 teams)

Level 5 NDP- Open Age (2 teams)

Level 6 NDP – Open Age (2 teams)

MAG and WAG gymnasts start values for each apparatus will vary depending on bonus skills and the difficulty of the routine. Start value is out of 10.0 or 10.5 depending on bonus for each apparatus.

D score = 5.00, E score = 10.00, D+E score = final score

Team Championships – MAG & WAG

A team must consist of a minimum of 3 and no more than 6 gymnasts. A gymnast can be entered as an individual if the school does not have enough gymnasts to form a team.

Only the highest three scores on each apparatus will count towards the Team’s total score.

Awards

Awards will be presented for:

·  Individual apparatus per level and division (1st-6th place)

·  Individual All-Around per level and division (1st – 6th place)

·  Teams (1st-3rd place) per level and division
