I hope this year proves to be a fun way for you to learn the Spanish language along with the culture and history of Spanish-speaking countries. This class will be centered on the four essential skills necessary to acquire a second language: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Grading Policy:
Daily Work – 40%Tests/Projects – 50%
Quizzes – 10%
Late Work
Daily assignments are due as directed by the teacher and assignments will not be accepted after the six weeks has ended. Alternate assignments may be given after the original work has been returned to students.

Absences/Missed Work
Guidelines for missed work due to absences are addressed in the Make-up work section of the PHS student handbook. Long term projects/assignments with specific due dates, which are communicated to the students, are due onthe designated day even if a student is absent from school on that day. Long term projects turned in late will be graded; however the grades will reflect the late work policy.Students who are absent the day of the test are expected to take the test the day they return to school.
Extracurricular Absences
Students who are absent due to an extracurricular event should notify the teacher prior to the absence to collect their assignments. Assignments will be due when a student returns to school unless the teacher establishes an alternate due date.
Test Make-Up Opportunity
Does not apply to Pre-AP classes.
BEHAVIOR CONSEQUENCES: Verbal warning, Detention, Office Referral
TARDIES: If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you are tardy. Students who are tardy will be subject to disciplinary consequences accordingly.
